CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUARTER FINALS: We had no shocks on the first night of the Champions League quarter finals. There could have been one in the Barcelona and Atletico Madrid game had the away side kept 11 on the pitch, but we look forward to tonight to see if the underdogs and pull out a result.

PSG host Man City in their first leg, and although you wouldn’t usually expect this to be a one sided market, odds are heavily in favour of the home side. Elsewhere Real Madrid look to build no their victory over Barcelona as they travel to Germany to face Wolfsburg.

PSG v Man City 7-45

Man City will find themselves up against it against one of the top teams in Europe. They haven’t been on great form lately, and the markets are certainly reflecting this, with Man City at 5.6 to get a victory in France. Chelsea are the only English side to beat PSG in Paris within a European competition, this was way back in 2004.

PSG have been in excellent form all year, including a lengthy unbeaten run and they certainly are worth their favourites tag at 1.72. This is even a generous price for the French giants considering they have only lost one of their last 38 European home games.

PSG will really back themselves to progress to the semi finals this year considering they have eliminated the last three English sides they have come up against in Europe (including Chelsea this year).

The Both Teams To Score Market is interesting as PSG had the joint best defensive record in Europe before this round of games, having only conceded 3 goals in 8 games. With Man City’s leaky defense you can certainly see PSG scoring, but for City to also get on the scoresheet is 1.91. Man City have scored the most goals in the last 15 minutes of a game in the Champions League this year, but they are coming up against a PSG defense that is yet to concede in the second half. PSG to win both halves is currently 3.95.

Wolfsburg v Real Madrid 7-45

Wolfsburg will be looking to extend their longest ever winning streak in a European competition. Their current run is 4 games on the trot, but they face stiff competition to make it 5 as they face Real Madrid. The market is heavily in favour of Real in this one, despite them playing away from home. They are 1.65 to grab a win in Germany where as the home side are 5.8. This is no great concern when you look at Real’s recent form against German sides in Europe, having progressed in their last 4 encounters against German teams. They have also won in 3 out of their last 4 games on German soil.

Not many give Wolfsburg much hope in this one, being their first time to reach the quarter finals of the competition, and they are playing the club with most European trophies in history. There is no real value in the To Qualify market as Real are currently priced at 1.08. With it being such a one sided encounter, it would be worth looking at the handicap market. Real -1/1.5 is a reasonable price at 2.34.

Also, with Real holding one of the best defensive records in the competition this year, for them to keep a clean sheet is 1.46. But even more value than this would be the Both Teams to Score market, if you select no in this market you can get 2.44. Finally, Cristiano Ronaldo is the top scorer in Champions League history, with Messi failing to find the net last night, Ronaldo will surely be eager to grow his lead in this department. He is 1.75 to score anytime.
