CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WEDNESDAY: We preview Wednesday’s Champions League games between AJAX V JUVENTUS and MANCHESTER UNITED V BARCELONA with recommended BETDAQ bets.

AJAX V JUVENTUS

8pm We have another superb night of Champions League Quarter Finals ahead and we start with Ajax hosting Juventus. It’s fair to say that most football fans, and punters, wouldn’t have expected either side to be here after Juventus lost the first leg 2-0 against Atletico Madrid and Ajax had to come from 2-1 behind and beat Real Madrid away from home! Both sides are obviously on a high after those comebacks and this should be an excellent tie.

The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Ajax 3.45, Juventus 2.38 and the draw is 3.35. Ajax may have lost 2-1 here against Real Madrid; however they bossed a large part of the game and corrected the situation with a 4-1 win in Madrid, and they also managed two draws in two games with Bayern – who are on the decline but it’s still noteworthy. They absolutely should not be underestimated heading into this tie and it’s unlikely that Juventus will do that after seeing their performance against Real Madrid. Juventus were comfortably beaten away from home against Atletico and they would be happy with a draw here and take the tie back to Italy. We feel that the 2.38 on Juventus is ten ticks too short given how well Ajax have played in the Champions League this season and we’re happy to lay the away side here.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Ajax at 2.38.

MANCHESTER UNITED V BARCELONA

8pm Much like Ajax and Juventus in the other Quarter Final tonight; Manchester United had an incredible comeback in the Last 16. PSG comfortably beat them at Old Trafford only to lose 3-1 in Paris in what will go down as a great memory for United fans who have been starved of success recently. Solskjaer has brought back the belief to Old Trafford, but they have had some slip ups recently and beating Barcelona is a different story altogether compared to PSG.

The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Manchester United 3.95, Barcelona 2.06 and the draw is 3.75. Barcelona look massive at 2.06 given how easily PSG beat United here recently, and they are going through the first rough patch of Solskjaer’s reign at the moment too. They have lost three of their four games since their away win at PSG, and were a little lucky to beat Watford 2-1 here too. There’s no doubt that Solskjaer has increased belief in this United squad, but we feel that the quality needed to get close to this Barcelona side just isn’t there – they will need some summer signings to get there. We’re happy to back Barcelona at odds against, which looks the best bet of the Quarter Finals.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Barcelona to beat Manchester United at 2.06.
