CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WEDNESDAY: We preview Wednesday’s Champions League games between PORTO v LIVERPOOL and REAL MADRID v PSG with recommended BETDAQ bets.
PORTO V LIVERPOOL
7.45pm This could be the tie of the week from an entertainment point of view, although it seems silly saying that with Real Madrid play PSG tonight too! Both these sides have seen plenty of goals in their recent games, and we could see an end-to-end thriller – although first legs do tend to be cagey, Liverpool are always likely to play an open game under Klopp. The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Porto 3.25, Liverpool 2.4 and the draw is 3.6.
Liverpool have to be confident coming into this tie. Porto were in the weakest Group and still failed to top it – they are solid at home though, and perhaps Liverpool will approach this leg with an eye on getting back to Anfield without much trouble. Porto have won 13 of their last 15 here, and if they are to qualify – they simply have to win tonight. Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.82 and although we acknowledge that first legs can be cagey affairs, the 1.82 looks massive between these two and we won’t look any further for our best bet.

REAL MADRID V PSG
7.45pm When the draw was made, everyone was talking about this one! Hopefully it lives up to it’s billing, and it will be very interesting to see how the big spenders PSG get on against the current Champions of Europe. Obviously Real Madrid are having a poor season, and an exit at this stage of the Champions League could see Zidane sacked. The match odds at the time of writing stand at; Real Madrid 2.5, PSG 2.9 and the draw is 3.85.
Much like Porto v Liverpool, goals seem certain here. We have some of the best attacking stars in the world – surely we’re going to have lots of goals? Over 2.5 goals is only trading 1.48 though, and that looks too short for us to back. Real Madrid look a little short at 2.5 in the match odds market – it’s been 30 games since PSG failed to score, and although most of those have been at a lower level in the French league, they did put Bayern to the sword in the Champions League. It’s no secret that Real have been struggling this season, and this is the acid test for PSG – we feel that it will be a very close game and we’re happy to lay Real at the odds.
