THE BUZZ IS FOR A STABLE PAY-DAY AT ASCOT: Daqman goes race by race through the Ascot meeting today, finding one stable dominates with three morning favourites on the seven-race card. BETDAQ value paves the way for bets from which just one winner puts you close to break-even. But the buzz is for a Henderson pay-day!

DAQMAN PROFITS GO ON THE LINE TOMORROW: Tomorrow Daqman dissects the pick of the Coral card at Ascot and the Graded racing at Haydock, with his naps, bull’s-eye bets and challenge to Pricewise all in profit.

HENDERSON FOR A QUICK HAT-TRICK

⭕ 12.20 Ascot Nicky Henderson and Nico de Boinville go for a hat-trick in this novices’ chase with the odds-on Chantry House, who makes his fencing debut from a hurdle race that produces top-class jumpers.

I mean, of course, the Supreme Novices Hurdle at Cheltenham, won by Altior, champion two-mile chaser who would go on to win 15 times for Henderson and De Boinville.

Shishkin (De Boinville) and Chantry House (Barry Geraghty) were first and third for Henderson in the Supreme in March, split by Abacadabras, who has just won the Morgiana.

Two grades below Chantry House over hurdles, Pic D’Orhy has already been seen over fences, none too fluent when second at Market Rasen in a three-horse race in October.

⭕ 12.55 Ascot A maiden hurdle also won by Henderson and De Boinville last year has them favourites again with Time Flies By, third here at Ascot on heavy ground in the Supreme Trial last December.

I must pop in to The Edgar Wallace off the Strand to pay my respects to one of the watering-holes of Fleet Street.

As a Flemensfirth out of a Bob’s Return mare, the horse of that name, an eight-lengths winner of a bumper in the Spring, probably needs further but represents another currently formidable trainer-jockey partnership of Kim Bailey and David Bass.

⭕ 1.30 Ascot For the third race running, Henderson has the best recent record: three wins in nine years. Harry Fry is close up with two in six seasons.

The good-looking Gipsy De Choisel has his first run for Henderson after being bought off the back of an Angers hurdles win in May.

Nimix De Juilley is another bought off winning French form. This time the buyer was J P McManus and the trainer, Paul Nicholls.

Metier jumped well when scoring for Fry at Newton Abbot but has had a second wind op since. Nor is Nicky Henderson satisfied with ‘Gipsy’: he’s put him in a hood.

The surprise packet could be Grisbi De Berce, said to have worked solidly at Alan King’s and ran well in a decent bumper at Kempton. Also hooded to settle him down.

THAT’S THE BUZZ ON THE ASCOT CARD

⭕ 2.05 Ascot (Coral Chase) Espoir De Guye is with Venetia Williams for a race she won with the smart Tenor Nivernais back in 2015.

Guye’s dam is by Dom Alco, who got Silviniaco Conti, Neptune Collonges and Al Ferof, to name but a few as they say, so the extended trip (2m 5f) could be the making of him.

But he has to face Deauville Dancer, who was giving a stone in the ratings when less than four lengths off Espoir De Guye at Exeter in December, and is now officially set to receive 11lb.

All depends what new trainer, Olly Murphy, has planned on his first run for the new stable.

Red Risk was ring-rusty when third at Market Rasen last month, and the winner at Auteuil and Ludlow is ‘expected’ today.

Count Meribel has won twice when fresh but seemingly needs good ground.

King Of Realms has also scored twice after a break, 1210 here at Ascot when fresh. Robbie Power takes over.

⭕ 2.40 Ascot (Coral Handicap Hurdle) More from Nicky Henderson. He’s won this three times in the decade, and Buzz might have been closer but for blundering at the last when third to Sceau Royal in the Welsh Champion Hurdle last month. Better than evens this morning in the BETDAQ Betting Exchange.

Eddiemaurice is a winner twice at Ascot, one chase, one hurdle, and returned on the Flat a month or so back. A big no-no in the BETDAQ market this morning at 26.0.

At the same time, En Meme Temps, also an Ascot winner, was showing up well in a big field at Aintree. Clever As A Fox, who finished last that day, has needed good ground so far.

VISION ON! McMANUS GETS VERDICT

⭕ 3.15 Ascot Mr Muldoon was a winner over hurdles here on deepish ground at the December meeting last year, and made an immediate mark over fences at Sedgefield in October, taking his form figures to 112113211 in Points, hurdles and the chase. BETDAQ 4.6 taken.

Favorito Buck’s is a CD winner here but the blinkers have been brought out of the tack room after a poor run back and his winning form is on a sound surface.

Onefortheroadtom (Harry Fry for J P McManus) has scored three times after a break, and won on the last day in March, though that was also on good ground.

McManus has the green cap on Pure Vision, who is hard to keep right but has won after long breaks and has had a wind op for this new start in life. A winner on heavy ground and the stable has been having a cracking autumn.

Venetia Williams has another soft-ground runner, Didero Vallis, but he, too, has won only at around half a mile shorter, and he failed to last out in the Rowland Meyrick in December, second, despite getting around two stone from both winner and third.

Wandrin Star is most likely prepping for the Becher Chase next month but Quarenta has won and been three times placed after a break.

⭕ 3.45 Ascot Dr Richard Newland’s yard does well with new recruits and market support should be noted for ex-French Enqarde, a niftily named Kapgarde gelding.

The ground is against My Lady Grey, with both wins over further on a sound surface but, like Certainly Red, her form is in open handicaps and this is a drop back to novices.

Apple Rock won on the soft at Carlisle is progressive and unexposed at today’s trip, which is just short of 3m. BETDAQ 5.6 taken.

I see that Timeform recommends the grey Silver Nickel, who has started 150-1, 100-1, 80-1, 40-1 (twice) 33-1 and 20-1 in his seven starts.

If there is a move in the market, then someone knows something or everyone knows nothing, as the wags on the rails used to say.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
