PROFITS ALL THE WAY AS DAQMAN LANDS 13-8 SUPERNAP: Every one of Daqman’s special bets is in profit after another supernap scored yesterday. As well as the 20 points on Urbanist (WON 13-8), he landed Spirit Of Angel (WON 7-2), ending the day 46.85 better off.

BIG RACE A PRIVATE PARTY: DON’T VOTE UNTIL TOMORROW: It’s a disappointing turn-out, which makes ante-post absurd. Can you take Saturday’s Lancashire Chase seriously at all with only four runners? To be fair, you’re choosing from honest horses – none green or yellow – not donkeys. Daqman will profile the candidates and tell you where he’s putting his X in his Saturday column. Save your vote for BETDAQ.

LIBERAL VIEW OF THE BIG RACE

Only four runners! In fact, that is the recent average for the Lancashire Chase at Haydock on Saturday, with 17 going to post in four years. Where will you cast your vote? I’m abstaining until tomorrow. Meanwhile..

Bristol de Mai (170 rated for Nigel Twiston-Davies) Going for a hat-trick in the race, so the Remain candidate.

Frodon (169 Paul Nicholls) He’s run an incredible ELEVEN times at Cheltenham, so Leave him alone until the festival in March?

Lostintranslation (161 Colin Tizzard) Is he the New Deal? The handicapper has voted very Conservatively, leaving him 8-9lb to find with the top two.

Ballyoptic (159 Nigel Twiston-Davies). Not a Grade-1 winner so likely to Labour at this level.

FRED LAUNCHES HENDERSON DAY

1.30 Ascot Nicky Henderson reckons French-buy Fred will ‘come on a bundle’ for his introduction to English hurdles, third at Cheltenham a month ago.

He rates the nap in the opening maiden, with the second that day, Master Debonair, switching to the next race, a class-2, the form made even hotter by his having beaten Thyme Hill in a bumper.

Igor and Papa Tango Charly may need more time, but the galloper Sheshoon Sonny should be in the picture, moved up in trip and into more open spaces, after his Stratford third.

2.05 Ascot Master Debonair, beaten favourite at 6-5, was short of room on the run-in at Cheltenham and may have been unlucky. Whatever, he’s had two wind ops since.

Kim Bailey is running Mr Grey Sky in his own race, but another highly-regarded Nicky Henderson hurdler, Cascova, catches the eye, ‘big’ at 7.0 in BETDAQ.

And Alan King thinks Galileo Silver, a Kempton Flat winner, is a strong player, giving the ride to one of his favourite jockeys (44% strike rate with James Bowen).

2.40 Ascot This is a cracking contest. Didero Vallis, Mr Medic and Dell Oro have all won after long lay-offs. Mr Medic won the race last year but the runner-up, Flying Angel, has been given 7lb to help him turn round a three-lengths defeat.

Flying Angel takes a big drop in class and three losing runs in Graded company – among them the Ultima at Cheltenham and the Topham at Aintree – now have him off his lowest chase mark, though still giving weight all round here and hasn’t won since April 2017.

Venetia Williams reckons the hurdles success of Didero Vallis was a bonus: ‘He’s a chaser, and likely to be a good one, too.’

That was validated by his fifth in the Stable Plate at the Cheltenham Festival. I asked for 5.0 in the BETDAQ orange.

Sky Pirate looked unlucky on the last day and was seventh in the Kim Muir but the fact remains that is six times a loser in his chase career, twice a faller.

Dello Oro requires this sounder surface but has lost his way since scoring at Huntingdon at the start of the year.

CAP FITS AS LADBROKES ENTRY

3.15 Ascot Both Cloth Cap (Ladbrokes Trophy) and Dragon d’ Estruval (Becher Chase) have Graded entries.

Cloth Cap (BETDAQ 5.6 taken), not disgraced on his reappearance behind Saturday’s Lancashire Chase runner, Ballyoptic, is highly regarded by Jonjo O’Neill.

Reikers Island (7.2 offers) has the right-handed track he needs. The trip looks a bit on the short side for the unlucky Mandarin fourth but there seems to be plenty of pace on in a fair-sized field.

3.45 Ascot According to my man in the long grass, Lust For Glory is a superb jumper of fences at home but it’s typical of Nicky Henderson to race them at speed over hurdles to give them confidence to attack a fence when they go chasing, which this one is certain to do.

Arch-rival Red Force One, who has improved to Listed level, with form on a par with the Greatwood result, may have the drop on him in the hurdles discipline, looking well handicapped off 129.
