BREEDERS CUP OPENS AT DEL MAR TODAY: There are two days to go to the end of the Flat-racing season, with the Breeders Cup opening tonight. Then tomorrow the big day at Del Mar, plus the November Handicap Flat farewell at Doncaster and the Jumps takeover marked by the Grand Sefton at Aintree and the Elite Hurdle at Wincanton.

TWO DAYS TO GO TO THE END OF THE FLAT: Here’s how Daqman stands on his main individual bets ahead of the Breeders Cup and the Saturday mixed meetings in England.

ONE FOR FUTURE BUSINESS

⭕ 1.50 Fontwell Imagine you’re a marathon runner but they keep on making you run in sprints. You’ll reap the benefit when at last you’re allowed to relax and use your stamina.

You are Earth Business, related to a Welsh National winner and to the high-class chaser Our Vic on the dam’s side. The Westerner five-year-old could start to show his ability now. BETDAQ 3.95.

⭕ 3.20 Fontwell Hurdles or fences, Hoot At Midnight is a bridesmaid at both – recent form 32224 – and his rating hasn’t moved a single pound in 10 races.

First Assembly likewise: form 33224 and the same rating for his 10th start that he was given him two years ago.

Churchtown Glen is also consistent without winning (one from 24 starts to be more precise). And, in theory, as borne out in their form, you can’t expect much from the aged horses, Between The Waters (10) and Mogestic (12).

Compare this bunch of moderates with Tommie Beau, who is on a steep upward curve, and nine days ago on his chasing debut showed the same appetite for fences that brought him a hat-trick in long-distance hurdles.

BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE 2.0 Tommie Beau (nap)

JET PROPELLED BY THE DRAW

⭕ 8.30 Del Mar They’re off at the Breeders Cup meeting with an all-age Listed race over 5f on Turf on the undercard but an awkward situation for followers of the European stables.

Newmarket trainer George Boughey’s two-year-old, Thunder Love (owned by Amo racing), runs against these older animals only if failing to get into the Juvenile Turf Sprint (at 9.50), for which she is first reserve.

Thunder Love won two at Kempton in the Spring. She was only around two lengths, fifth, in the Flying Childers (Group 2) at Doncaster (denied a clear run) but weakened right out of it in the Cheveley Park.

⭕ 9.50 Del Mar (Breeders Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint, 5f) David Loughnane already has Go Bears Go for Amo safely in the field from a favourable 3 draw.

The colt was second in the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot (firm), won the Railway Stakes (6f) at the Curragh and was fourth in the Middle Park (6f) at Newmarket.

Out of stall 7, Armor for Richard Hannon, has the early speed to try to get across. He won the Molecomb, was fourth in the Prix Morny and just in front of Go Bears Go, third in the Middle Park (6f).

Hierarchy ( out of the 5 stall for Hugo Palmer) was beaten only a head in the Mill Reef Stakes (6f) and Vertiginous (Brian Meehan in 4) won a Listed at Ayr (firm).

On the form we know in England, Armor officially rates 111, Go Bears Go and Twilight Jet 110, Hierarchy 108 and Vertiginous 101.

Wesley Ward’s filly, Twilight Gleaming, would be 104 on her Queen Mary second at Royal Ascot. Stablemate Averly Jane won her only turf race from the front but has stall 8 to overcome.

It’s a similar situation for One-Timer, fast Santa Anita and Woodbine winner, who has to try to get to the front from stall 9.

I shall test the draw by having my pound on Twilight Jet, heavily backed with the bookies since being gifted the one stall, and showing 7.0 in the BETDAQ Sportsbook.

He has bags of early speed and dropped out of the 6f Middle Park only in the final furlong, about a length behind Armor and Go Bears Go, with the winner, Perfect Power (115) making it top quality.

BETDAQ Sportsbook value 7.0 Twilight Jet, 8.0 Armor

SEQUIST 26.0 HIDDEN HORSE

⭕ 10.30 Del Mar (Juvenile Fillies Mile Dirt) Echo Zulu, by a Breeders Cup Classic winner, is half-a-stone clear in the ratings and reckoned by many the first banker of the meeting. Her front-running style is well suited to this Chester-like turning track.

Juju’s Map has taken a recognised winning route to the race (the Alcibiades) but those who saw Sequist race extremely wide behind her at Keeneland wonder if that one can do better from an inside stall (3).

Sequist hasn’t shown the speed so far but, with Echo Zulu and Juju’s Map likely to scrap all the way from adjacent stalls, could get near enough from the second bend.

Sequist, by the same sire as the winner of last year’s race, was 26.0 in the BETDAQ Sportsbook this morning.

BETDAQ Sportsbook each way 26.0 Sequist (place payout 0.25)

17.0 TURNER PRIZE WINNER?

⭕ 11.10 Del Mar (Juvenile Fillies Mile Turf) Mise En Scene (James Ferguson), third to Inspiral in the Fillies Mile at Newmarket last month, has it all to do from a wide stall (13).

Rockfel winner Hello You, will be saddled by David Loughnane for Amo Racing, with no more than ‘hope’ that she can get the extra furlong in a flat-to-the-boards race.

Taking them along (out of 4) could be Turnerloose. At 17.0 in the BETDAQ Sportsbook this morning, she looked another secret weapon if her Kentucky-form analysis is good: ‘won for fun.’

BETDAQ Sportsbook each way 17.0 Turnerloose (place payout 0.25)

THIS IS GODOLPHIN’S GAMES

⭕ 00.30 Del Mar tomorrow (Breeders Cup Juvenile Turf, colts and geldings) In the early hours (British Time), Albahr under Frankie Dettori and Modern Games, ridden by William Buick, could be fighting it out from stalls one and two, both in the Godolphin colours for Charlie Appleby.

Modern Games (rated 111) is a neat and nippy little horse with natural pace, tailor-made for Del Mar’s tight turns.

But the win-and-you’re-in Summer Stakes winner at Woodbine in September, Albahr (108) is tough and willing, grandson of Street Cry, who sired world champion Winx.

As Dewhurst runner-up, Dubawi Legend represents Native Trail here but is hard to back from stall 14.

Further behind Native Trail at Newmarket but a winner since at Leopardstown, Aidan O’Brien’s Glounthaune is in 8.

BETDAQ Sportsbook value 3.5 Modern Games, 9 Albahr

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
