A PROUD AND PROFITABLE DAY: Daqman made it 28 winners in 21 days when he landed the big race in Ireland yesterday and his best bet in England. Profit on the day: 12.25

WON 11-4 PROUD AND REGAL (Tyros Stakes)
WON 8-15 WILLEM TWEE (nap, 4-5 taken on BETDAQ)

ASCOT KING GEORGE OPENING: It’s day one of the King George meeting at Ascot, with some quality at York tonight and a nap at nearby Thirsk.

BETDAQ 10-1 OPENS THE GATE

⭕ 1.55 Ascot (6f 2yo) Richard Hannon, my least favourite trainer right now, has won this six times in a row: six years out of seven but without a contender in 2017.

Why not a favourite of mine? Well his current 24 consecutive losers might have something to do with it, and his overall 5-64 is a dismal 8% strike-rate. It’s been low all season and surely the occasional winner hardly pays for the petrol.

You can only trust the stable stats if you get around 10-1 value; and, sure enough, it was BETDAQ to the rescue this morning.

8.0 MANCINI FOR RYAN MOORE

⭕ 3.05 Ascot (Brown Jack Stakes, 2m) Ian Williams, who has won this twice in the last four years, gives himself two chances today, including with the 2018 and 2021 dual firm-ground winner, Speedo Boy.

Before last year, every winner in the decade had been aged three or four, and Speedo has 10st 2lb today in his treble bid. He gives 18lb to the three-year-old Mostly Cloudy and 12lb to Baileys Derbyday, who is four.

Mostly Cloudy is up 26lb for a four-timer in which he’s climbed the ladder from class 6 to class 4, and today tries class 3.

Cloudy’s Yorkshire trainer, Gemma Tutty, who had her first winner only in May, has traveled south before with him and won at Sandown.

Baileys Derbyday has won a class-5 AW but is still a turf maiden after 10 runs, missing strike with five seconds. Single has lost 15 in a row and his near misses in that time have all come over 1m 6f.

Could Ian Williams win it again with another old-timer: at age eight, Speedo Boy’s stablemate Mancini (BETDAQ 8.0) has Ryan Moore in the saddle for the first time, after dropping 22lb in the handicap, 19lb below his winning form at Sandown (1m 6f two years ago) and York (2m three years back).

LOOK INTO THE CRYSTAL BALL

⭕ 4.00 Thirsk (6f fillies’ handicap) Yorkshireman William Haggas is famous for his raids on the Knavesmire but, though he swerves York until tomorrow, he has looked into his crystal ball and spotted success awaiting him at nearby Thirsk.

Pink Crystal has never been out of the frame. Needed the run the last day after a break and I took 2.88 on Betdaq Betting Exchange this morning.

ACHELOIS CHANCE TO STRIKE

⭕ 7.25 York (1m 2f Listed) Three-year-olds, which have won the last four runnings of this, are represented by two horses which are both 2-2 this season.

Team Gosden’s Judith has won only at a lower level but has a pedigree packed with potential to do well, particularly over further.

She receives 5lb from Poptronic, who gets on well with Sam James and completed a hat-trick by taking a Group 3 at Newcastle, with the 106-rated Oaks seventh in second and Pearl Beach third.

Is 5lb enough? The ratings say that Judith is still 11lb short. They also say that Pearl Beach, who was keeping on third to Poptronic, is 8lb better off, but Pearl Beach is 0-8 on turf.

Achelois is trying to get some black type while she is in form, having gone close in the John Smith’s Cup after waiting for an opening. I took 3.25 on BETDAQ.

TUDHOPE’S MARCHING ON..

⭕ 7.55 York It was also inevitable that the John Smith’s fourth, Spirit Dancer, (Good Birthday in rear) would try to cash in on that form but he’s won only his maiden on turf (from 10 starts), always a bad sign.

Lucander is exposed and has to give weight all round and the most likely winner is Marching Army. BETDAQ 5.4.

He’s 3-5 on top of the ground and on AW, and with his trainer, Saeed Bin Suroor placing them so well and capable of producing them after long absences. Daniel Tudhope, a jockey publicly praised by the trainer, takes the ride.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
