DAQMAN’S WINNING STREAK OVER PRICEWISE IS SEVEN YEARS LONG: Daqman’s 54-33 win over Pricewise in the Flat season just ended took him to victory consecutively in every one of 14 seasons, Flat and Jumps, since their value bets were recorded from November, 2013. Full year-on-year results below up to and including Saturday.

814 WINNING BIG-RACE BETS

1,000 big winners by the end of the next Jumps season. That’s Daqman’s target in his challenge to Pricewise, with the Flat campaign just ended taking their total scores to Daqman 814, Pricewise 341 since November 2013.

Daqman finished the 2020 Flat with 197.61 points profit from 54 strikes against a loss of 272.84 from 33 hits by Pricewise.

Because of the curtailments, it was the first time in seven seasons that the total wins failed to add together to more than 100 on the Flat.

If things get back to normal for 2021, his current best seasonal scores could take him to within 30 of the magic 1,000 by end March 2022. So the report signs off: Can do better!

2013-14 NH season final score DAQMAN 39, PRICEWISE 12

EMERGING FROM THE SHADOWS

⭕ 1.30 Chepstow Manintheshadows doesn’t have the most appealing form figures at first glance 470-88 but on deeper study it’s easy to see why he is so prominent on the BETDAQ Betting Exchange this morning.

The Jonjo O’Neill trained and (‘jnr’ ridden) five-year-old should be a different proposition now dropped back in distance and can start showing some form over this trip with the assistance of a 3lb drop from the handicapper.

With six winners over the last 14 days, the O’Neill stable has hit a patch of form and Manintheshadows can start the week well. He was nibbled at when eighth at Ffos Las last time out and travelled well for much of the race until weakening two out. That was over three miles and the shorter trip (but more testing ground) should both prove positives.

Perhaps the biggest selling point for his chance today though is the paucity of opposition.

Darksideoftarnside has been beaten an aggregate of 213 lengths in four starts this year and it would take a huge leap of faith to consider backing him at single figure odds.

A bigger threat may emerge from front running Mac Amara who may have needed the run on his reappearance at Stratford and gets a 4lb boost from the handicapper.

NO BRIDGE TOO FAR

⭕ 2.40 Chepstow The admirable mare Kilconny Bridge can continue where she left off last season as she bids for a fourth win in a row.

Her trainer Anthony Honeyball is on a purple patch – 7 winners from last 18.

Kilconny Bridge relished the testing ground last season with wins at Plumpton (bumper) and over hurdles at Exeter (twice) and Ludlow last time out and won’t lack in the stamina department over this near three mile trip.

Martha Brae is the danger if you can forgive a disappointing reappearance at Uttoxeter. Her form last season suggested that this trip and ground should be ideal. It’s the second time she has run poorly after a break so is likely to put in an improved effort.

PRINCESS TO STRIKE

⭕ 5.05 Southwell Just the six runners for this Ladbrokes sponsored auction event over six furlongs.

Charlie Fellowes (equine!) is in cracking from but has to concede a massive 20lb to the filly Princess Of Lir who ran really well on debut at Wolverhampton – despite being asleep as the stalls opened.

We need to chance that she will be as effective on this surface but that’s the same gamble you are taking if you are backing the favourite.

As usual, prices dictate and I’m getting more than double the odds on ‘Princess’ at the time of writing.

DAQMAN’S BETS (staked to win 10 points)
BET 4.6pts win MANINTHESHADOWS (1.30 Chepstow)
BET 7.9pts win (nap) KILCONNY BRIDGE (2.40 Chepstow)
BET 3.3pts win PRINCESS OF LIR (5.05 Southwell)

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
