DOUBLE-YOUR-MONEY MARATHON WINNER LANDS ODDS-ON GAMBLE: Daqman took evens and better on the winner of yesterday’s Longchamp marathon, Prix Gladiateur, Called To The Bar (WON 4-7). He forecast the Irish one-two in the Prix du Moulin but – a rare occasion in France – a stewards’ inquiry allowed Circus Maximus to keep the race by a nose over Daqman’s nap, Romanised. He had two other winning bets on the day.

WON 5-2 ROULSTON SCAR
WON 4-7 CALLED TO THE BAR (Prix Gladiateur)
WON (place bet 2nd 8-1) FOREWARNING

SMALL STAKES DAY: Three bets to win 10 points each for DAQMAN on Monday. One winner will guarantee a profit on the day.

14-1 HEADS-UP IN LISTOWEL LISTINGS

⚠️ HEADS UP Listowel’s five-day mixed meeting gets hot on Wednesday (Kerry National) and Thursday (Ladbrokes Ireland Listowel Hurdle).

Though the usual suspects lead the trainers’ tables for Flat and Jumps at the meeting, a staggering number of stables have shared the prizes in the last decade. So look for small yards which have plotted an opportunity.

JUMPS: Willie Mullins 12, Gordon Elliott 8, Noel Meade 8, Jessica Harrington 7, Michael Hourigan 6, Joseph O’Brien 6 and four each for Henry De Bromhead, Tony Martin, Eric McNamara and ‘Shark’ Hanlon. They lead the list of winners but there were 82 successful stables.

FLAT: Aidan O’Brien 6, Jim Bolger 5, Willie Mullins 5 and Dermot Weld 4 are top of 51 Flat stables to score.

⚠️ HEADS UP My man in the long grass tells me to expect a revival from Three Musketeers (Kerry National, 14-1 ante-post with Corals and Ladbrokes), Graded hurdles winner who enjoyed the change of scenery when switched from Dan Skelton to Gordon Elliott in the Spring and won first time at the Aintree Festival.

Mr Everest, a Listowel winner on the Flat, landed a gamble at the Galway Festival to break his hurdles maiden, going clear under Davy Russell.

Decisions, decisions! Will Tony Martin run him off a featherweight in Thursday’s Ladbrokes Ireland Listowel Handicap, or in the Newmarket Cesarewitch next month? Or both.

EARLY BATH AT NEWTON ABBOT

1.45 Brighton A fillies handicap opens the card and I’m sweet on the chances of Foxy Femme over the hard to win with Lethal Agent and the penalised Knockabout Queen who is up 6lb for her win in a seller last week.

Unlike most here, Foxy Femme does seem to be on an upward profile and was a fast ground winner at Leicester two starts ago. There was nothing wrong with her Windsor third in a better race than this last time out when she stayed on well and therefore should be suited by this stiffer test on her first trip to Brighton.

Lethal Agent’s form figures of 32223243 this season tell their own story. The handicapper has at last shown her mercy and nudged her down 2lb but her only career win in 23 has come on all the all-weather.

2.25 Newton Abbot There are absence concerns over two of the market principals here. Rococo River has been off the course since winning at Exeter in May and may struggle to defy a penalty whilst Rebel Leader makes his debut after winning an Irish point to point on soft ground at Belclare in March. It’s good ground forecast today and things might happen a little too quick for him over this trip.

The door may be left open for Bathiva whose overall form gives him a good chance here. He was third on stable debut for David Dennis at Worcester last time out. Although a beaten favourite, I’m not sure this race is any better and he does enjoy the fitness advantage and will handle the ground.

At bigger odds Jacamar might run into a place. He popped up at 33/1 when winning at Wincanton earlier in the season and might have needed his run over course and distance last time out when coming back after a break.

2.45 Brighton Silverturnstogold ran well here last time but that came over a mile and he was doing his best work at the end.

A speculative play on Joyful Dream is the call. She romped home over course and distance last month and drops back to this trip again having finished third over a mile last time out.
