8️⃣ GREAT EIGHT: TODAY Daqman nominates the top eight jump jockeys and how much their edge. For instance, your horse is 4lb better off if Harry Cobden rides; 6lb in hand when he rides for Paul Nicholls.
8️⃣ GRAND EIGHT: TOMORROW: Daqman’s ratings for the Grand National in advance of Tuesday’s weight ceremony.
GREAT EIGHT JUMP JOCKEYS
Rate trainer and jockey plus track and trip. There are plenty of big-race ratings doing the rounds, but the ability of trainers and jockeys to perform at the very top should be added to your market assessment.
Before checking each horse for track and trip, you must rate your jockey and trainer on an overall basis.
Yesterday I forecast Harry Cobden would become champion jockey; almost alongside him are just one or two others you can trust; then there’s a few reliable, followed by the best of the rest.
One clue is how much the winningmost trainers trust them! And that means earnings from the jobs they are given to do in Graded races.
I’ll be adding my trainer ratings before Cheltenham plus track and trip bonuses when the festival declared are known. Jockeys advantage in pounds given on the left.
4.00 Harry Cobden add extra 2lb when riding for Paul Nicholls.
3.00 Nico De Boinville add extra 2lb when riding for Nicky Henderson
2.50 Harry Skelton add extra 1.50 when riding for Dan Skelton
2.25 Sean Bowen add extra 1.50 when riding for Harry Fry
2.00 Gavin Sheehan and Sam Twiston Davies
1.50 Brian Hughes add extra 1.50 when riding for Brian Ellison
1.50 Ben Jones add extra 1.50 when riding for Ben Pauling
FEED THE FEVER
⭕ 5.10 Carlisle The Cumbrian circuit stage the only jumps racing of the day and the ground is heavy. This will make the concluding 3m 1f handicap hurdle even more of a stamina test.
Heading the morning Betdaq Betting Exchange market was Perculator who I thought was opposable.
She was all out when winning last time out at Wetherby and a 4lb hike in the weights for a neck victory seems quite harsh.
The cheekpieces, seen to good effect for the first time at Wetherby, are back on again but this is a tougher course and is on tougher ground – so it might just test the mares stamina.
Kiss My Face was a fair third at Musselburgh on New Year’s Day and should be fit from a recent spin on the all-weather at Southwell but is totally unproven on heavy ground.
Micky Hammond’s Fainche is a career 0-21 and the trainer is only 1-21 recently so is easy to swerve.
I’ll take a chance with Fevertre for a WIN 20 return.
He’s got less miles on the clock than most of these and has run well at Carlisle previously.
He’s dropping down the weights and didn’t run too badly in a slightly better class race on heavy ground at Ffos Las last time out.
PATH TO ANOTHER SUCCESS
⭕ 6.30 Wolverhampton Path To Dubai looked a nice prospect when winning on debut at Southwell and is bred to do even better over this furlong and a half further trip.
He stayed on to beat Andrew Balding’s Who’s Glen. Balding also trains tonight’s danger and likely favourite See That Storm who won in a bunch finish at Lingfield on debut but then showed signs of temperament at the start before going on to finish second to Lavender Hill Mob at the same track.
The winner didn’t exactly frank that form next time out when a beaten odds on favourite and I think he is opposable at a short price.
IT’S A NO TO MO
⭕ 8.30 Wolverhampton Another favourite to take on. It’s one of those days!
Mokaatil hasn’t won on the all-weather for three years and at the age of nine isn’t really going to start improving. I’d only be half-tempted if the handicapper dropped him 7lb rather than the 1lb tonight.
Jacquelina won over course and distance last month and ran well to take second behind the reformed Darlo Pride last week. The handicapper has thrown her a surprise 1lb drop and she should be right in the mix.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
