9-4 NAP IS NUMBER 16 FOR DAQMAN: Leviathan (WON 9-4) was winning nap number 16 for the year for top tipster Daqman when it landed his 13-point best bet at Plumpton yesterday. There is another 13-pointer today (at the foot of the column).

12.0 CHAMPION HURDLE TIP FROM THE STABLE: Daqman completes his Cheltenham ante-post bets with the Gold Cup and Champion Hurdle, in which he goes along with stable fever for a 12.0 offer.

ALL DAQMAN’S ANTE-POST BETS AND 12 TO FOLLOW: Today he declares all his ante-post selections and marks his horses to follow down for festival races.

CHELTENHAM STATS NEXT WEEK: Look out next week when he ‘runs’ Cheltenham a week in advance, examining the stats and history behind each event to be run at the festival a week ahead.

I never thought I’d write this. But I’m taking a bit of the BETDAQ 12.0 Binocular for the Champion Hurdle, such are the excellent reports buzzing from Seven Barrows.

Trainer Nicky Henderson is a master with older horses (remember Caracciola) – he’s the Michael Stoute of jumps racing– and he is adamant that, at the age of nine, Binocular is as good as he’s ever been.

The 2010 winner would normally need to have improved considerably, but the favourite, Hurricane Fly, is also nine years old and Rock On Ruby isn’t getting any younger, defending his title at eight.

Ladbrokes stand alone in offering 8-1 Binocular for Cheltenham, which makes the 12.0 on BETDAQ look even tastier. It puts me in the game.

I keep banging on about Silviniaco Conti being sure to improve on good ground so, with fine weather forecast for the festival, I ought to put some money where my mouth is.

He’s only 4-1 (another stand alone with Ladbrokes) for the Gold Cup but as near as dammit 6-1 with BETDAQ (mostly 5.9).

Here, then, are my final nine ante-post horses for Cheltenham in race order, including our biggest money-spinner so far, Monksland, who is in from 11.0 to 6.4 for the World Hurdle, as I write.

Below the ante-post bets are the Daqman Dozen horses to follow, which I issued for the start of the New Year, including their Cheltenham targets.
