DAQMAN LANDS A NAPS FOUR-TIMER: Daqman landed his Friday supernap to make it four best bets in a row. Today’s nap opens the Doncaster meeting.

WON 8-15 GALUNGGUNG (Friday supernap)
WON 6-5 MEDICI PASS (Thursday nap)
WON 5-4 DOUBLY POWERFUL (Wednesday nap)
WON 8-13 LADY OF SPAIN (Tuesday nap)

THEY’RE OFF! The Flat season starts at Doncaster today with Pricewise again defeated by Daqman over Jumps. Look out for the Improver bet and of course bull’s-eye targets of 50 points.

BLUES COULD HAVE A BALL

⭕ 3.35 Doncaster (Lincoln Handicap) STATS: See Friday’s Top 12

1: BLUES EMPEROR Those asking whether the soft surface on Town Moor will suit Blues Emperor should wind back the clock to his Naas defeat last Spring of Navagio.

Because the son of Gleneagles had broken his maiden on the soft and ran second first time up last Spring in a big field on soft before the win over Navagio, trainer Johnny Murtagh was asking will he act on top of the ground!

They are ready to crown Chazzesmee first Irish winner of the Lincoln Handicap in 40 years but, with that one’s Irish Lincolnshire win only five days old, and his length defeat by Blues Emperor last July, he will not carry my money in a race with results in the decade of 9-1 against the favourite.

2: THUNDER BALL (IMPROVER) Daqman had a 75% record with improvers last week, a new label launched at the Cheltenham festival.

Thunder Ball is the right age for this race at four and progressed 27lb from May last year through a Britannia 4th at Royal Ascot to three lengths off the Cambridgeshire winner (1m 1f).

Won at Goodwood (1m soft) after beating The Gatekeeper there (1m soft in August) as a three-year-old. The Cole yard, which always used to be early, has just had an AW winner.

3: LIBERTY LANE Just got up to win 1m (soft) handicap at Doncaster last September after a break, beating the Royal Hunt Cup runner-up, and is the Daqman choice of the high numbers in the draw.

Betdaq Betting Exchange 6.2 Liberty Lane, 12.5 Blues Emperor, 14.5 Thunder Ball

VOTE CHARYN CROSS ON NAP

⭕ 1.20 Doncaster Mile Three out of the last five favourites have taken this, all odds on.
Roger Varian, winning trainer three times in the last seven years, has Charyn the likely favourite, dropped to Listed level after taking on the best, yet 3.5 on BETDAQ this morning.

Placed in the Irish Guineas, St James’s Palace Stakes, Sussex Stakes and Celebration Mile.

⭕ 2.10 Newbury Kartoon And Co is still only four but gets nearly two stone from both Into The Park and Spirits Bay. More kind offer from the BETDAQ layers: 3.2 as I write.

⭕ 2.40 Newbury Whatever happens to their Kartoon caper, last year’s winner of this for the Skeltons, Heltenham, is hot though still a double-your-money bet at 2.16 on BETDAQ .

He made it 2-2 for the team on this course when winning the Greatwood Gold Cup and is raised only 6lb.

SPENNY SET TO THUNDER HOME

⭕ 2.25 Doncaster (Spring Mile) In a V-formation like geese, the main body of runners last year could have let loose a swan from high or low; in fact, a double-figure draw won in this race and then the Lincoln.

A match occurred the year before, too (Spring Mile from the one stall and Lincoln winner drawn 4) but there was no previous concurrency to speak of in recent times.

The possible favourites today, last year’s one-two Harswell Duke and Titian, are aged six – none has won in 11 years – where the four-year-olds usually score.

The 7f horses, Thunder Roar (1), Helter Skelter (3) and Look Back Smiling (5), are drawn so low they may elect to take the far-side-rail route.

But Jamie Spencer, who is ace at threading his way through a big field, could try to cross into the pack for cover and use Thunder Roar’s speed at the finish.

Magic Memories (8), who can be unruly at the start, has Tom Queally to tuck him in early and then play dodgems, also from the low draw. May there be no swans flying from high!

BETDAQ value 9.1 Thunder Roar and 9.5 Magic Memories.

ORAZIO CAN SHOW HIS ZIP

⭕ 3.00 Doncaster (Cammidge Trophy) George Boughey has had a couple of winners in the last two weeks but is not in his devastating form of last Spring, and another worry is how Baradar drifted in the books this morning.

Baradar has scored on the course on good, soft, and heavy (after a break) from 6.5f to a mile and was third in last year’s Lincoln.

Charles Hills, who won this in 2021, has booked Jim Crowley for his only ride of the day on 4.5 BETDAQ offer Orazio, who won his first turf race last April.

Orazio, now gelded, who took in three of the biggest sprints last season, is dropping to Listed level in this.

The one for the money, Montassib, also in to 4.5, is a winner over 6f and 7f, and is William Haggas’ only runner at this opening meeting of Flat 2024.

Marshman was a Group-3 winner and Group-2 placed, both in France last year. Adaay In Devon was well backed this morning.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
