BELLE, THE 14.0 BETDAQ DARK HORSE, WINS AT 7-2 FAVOURITE: Daqman’s early-mouse bets revealed sensational value on BETDAQ yesterday, when one of his picks, made the night before at 14.0, won as 7-2 favourite. There were two ‘shot in the dark’ offers taken before midnight the previous night, with the winner retaining top value at 11.5 the following morning:

3RD 10-1 DAREBIN (25.0 BETDAQ Thursday night; 9.4 Friday morning)
WON 7-2 BELLE EMPRESS (14.0 BETDAQ Thursday night; 11.5 Friday)

SATURDAY TINGLE! DAQMAN SPECIAL BETS ARE ALL IN PROFIT: Saturday’s line-up includes the Tingle Creek and London National at Sandown and the Becher Chase at Aintree. It’s no contest between Daqman and his rivals, so his own special bets are in competition to see which one can make the most profit. All are in plus as they come under starter’s orders..

FIDDLER CAN RAISE THE ROOF..

12.15 Sandown This 2m novices’ hurdle has been farmed by Nicky Henderson. Only Colin Tizzard with a runner today has stopped him having a near clean-sweep in the decade, and that’s how it looks again here.

Horses over the age of five rarely win so, of Henderson’s pair, hurdles debutant Timberman, runner-up to a stablemate in a bumper on the last day, is preferred to Daphne Du Clos.

But both may have to give way to Tizzard’s Fiddlerontheroof, who was headed only in the last 150 yards at Chepstow over 2m 3f by Thyme Hill, a winner again since and now rated 147.

WHATEVER YOU DO GO BACK GO

1.20 Sandown The improver here is Go Whatever and it looks significant that Harry Cobden has been booked to ride ahead of a big day in the Tingle Creek on Politologue.

From being pressed on the home turn at Plumpton, Go Whatever suddenly found the reserves that won him a 3m Point in Ireland, and the handicapper may have been lenient in awarding him only 119, which gives him a stone advantage over six of the remaining 10 in this field.

Of those close to him in the weights, Silva Eclipse has been fairly static in the ratings all year, while Special Acceptance is a maiden and Fortunate George has done little or nothing since February of last year. For Crystal Lad, go back another year!

David Pipe is having a decent run but the handicapper really thumped Eur Gone West (22lb in all) for back-to-back wins in the Spring, and I fancy he’s prepping for fences, as he’s from the family of a Welsh National winner.

Stablemate Taj Badalandabad is another who has not improved, being similarly rated since February 2016.

Dream Berry had good form in top-class races way back at the festivals of Aintree, Cheltenham and Punchestown.

His autumn reappearance runs were modest but that has dropped him 7lb.

Lord Of The Island is 11 now and unlikely to put back-to-back wins together in this company. He was fourth when Flemcara won a Pertemps qualifier like this one at Exeter, with Boyhood third.

Boyhood is now well in with both, and probably best of the exposed horses, but he’s been chasing since March and has to give 20lb to Go Whatever (BETDAQ 5.9). Dream Berry, with offers of 9.8, is the hidden horse.

BREUIL BETDAQ BEAUTY AT 21.0

1.30 Aintree (Becher Chase) Walk In The Mill and Vieux Lion Rouge, both previous Becher winners (they were first and second last year), clash with a Grand National hero, One For Arthur, and a Grand Sefton winner, As De Mee.

Who among the youngsters can jump these fences and beat the old hands at this specialist game?

Mulcahys Hill has shown he has a touch of class. Normally a good jumper, but fell behind Le Breuil in the 4m NH Chase at Cheltenham.

Kimberlite Candy could improve: ran well in the Irish National and has a weights pull with the second, Mysteree, on Eider Chase form.

Tough and normally a good jumper, Vintage Clouds has been placed in a Scottish National and a Welsh National, but fell at the first in the Grand National when Walk In The Mill (cheekpieces first time today) was fourth.

Scottish National runner-up, Ballyoptic ran well in that Grand National until four out and this could be his race. His stable has won the Becher six times. Big at 18.0 on BETDAQ.

The NH Chase has produced Cause Of Causes, Tiger Roll and Rathvinden in the last four years and Le Breuil must be backed at 21.0 on BETDAQ.

Of the shorter prices, Walk In The Mill carries most guarantees and was a fair exchange at 10.0 at time of writing.

COULD THAT BE MACK THE KNIFE

2.25 Sandown Malaya has only 4lb more than when winning the Imperial Cup over CD in March but she has to give lumps of weight away, including to stablemate, Ashutor, and recent winner Mack The Man.

Ashutor has been a morning glory at Ditcheat, so they are throwing everything into the mix here to attempt a transformation: double wind op, first-time cheekpieces and a 7lb claim.

Although the claim does nothing to help here, Bryan Carver – like Ben Jones – is a young jockey to follow. Loved the way he got hold of Scaramanga and bossed the race at Wincanton on Thursday.

Smarty Wild has been a prolific scorer at a lower level but is massively up in grade here, while Song For Someone has been hit by an 11lb rise.

I’m playing Mack The Man, a big beast by Flemensfirth out of a Saddler’s Hall mare, who has needed time to mature.

The penny dropped on the last day and he could easily go on from that. I had a bit of win and place at 9.6 on BETDAQ this morning.

IT’S ALL MAKING ME A DEFI MAN

3.00 Sandown (Tingle Creek Chase) Previous winners Un De Sceaux and Politologue will be a tough test for Defi Du Seuil, who was too strong for Politologue at Cheltenham last month.

They are brought together in the weights today, and again the knife (double wind op), the hood and the tongue-tie are employed by Ditcheat to try to force Politologue over the line, like an equine Brexit.

Wind ops, hoods and tongue-ties should be compulsory in the final week of the General Election. There are surely fewer and fewer willing horses to watch such an exchange of feeble tripe as last night. I need stamina or stay Defi.

FIND GOLD KEY UNDER THE STEP

3.35 Sandown (London National) The only winners in the decade to carry more than 11st 1lb were scoring on good-to-soft ground at worst. But 8-10 were on or below that mark, mainly on the soft, which is likely to apply today, though the track is drying slowly.

Sharp Response was beaten a total of 39 lengths in two races in the autumn, but the North Yorkshire National winner was an early-bird bet with the bookies. Trainer Sue Smith is good with her stayers.

Dragon D’Estruval was also well supported but Nicky Henderson is not that good with stayers, nor do six-year-olds reckon to win stamina tests. The same applies to Classic Ben, a 3m course winner, and Coningsby.

Vinnie Lewis beat Shanroe Santos, the subsequent Southern National winner, in the 2018 Sussex National off the same weight mark. Doing Fine has been placed twice in today’s race, and Carole’s Destrier won it in 2015.

There are no stamina doubts, too, about Step Back and Royal Vacation. The negatives are that Step Back is usually a Spring horse and Royal Vacation, high in the weights, has poor Sandown form of 00PP0.

A BETDAQ 6.0 offer this morning, Step Back has been winner and third in the Sandown Gold Cup and this contest looks much weaker.

Is he the business today? He would be if I were his owner. I’d be excited because the race won’t be hard to win for a horse of his quality. He’s had a wind op and goes well fresh.
