NAPS HAT-TRICK AND GUINEAS ONE-TWO: Daqman landed his third successive winning nap – two of them supernaps – when Rosallion won the Irish 2,000 Guineas yesterday; he gave the one-two for good measure. Daqman also had a 9-2 strike at Haydock for a three-day profit and went close with outsiders Apiarist (3rd 20-1) and Where I Wanna Be (3rd 12-1).

WON 9-2 INISHERIN (Saturday)
WON 10-11 ROSALLION (supernap) Haatem 2nd 6-1 same race
WON 9-4 ELECTRIC STORM (Friday nap) BETDAQ 6.4 taken
WON 1-2 ROYAL RHYME (Thursday supernap)

BIG-RACE SCENE ACROSS EUROPE: Richard Hannon’s rare English one-two at the Curragh broke the sequence of five consecutive losing favourites in the 2024 Classics season, which continues today with the Irish 1,000 Guineas and its German counterpart.

BLUE ROSE MEETS HER MARK..

⭕ 2.40 Longchamp (Prix d’Ispahan) English racing reverts to the Jumps, vacating the stage to three Group-1 in Europe, two Guineas at the heart of them.

It’s all over in 65 minutes, starting with the Ispahan and the reappearance of Blue Rose Cen, whom we followed in this column last season to four wins in five, three of them here on soft plus the French Oaks at Chantilly.

Blue Rose Cen, who has changed yards, still benefits from Aurelien Lemaire in the saddle, the very soft ground she loves and a decent draw in 5.

Mqse De Sevigne (BETDAQ 3.0), out of the one stall, was always in the first two last year, including success in the Romanet on very soft. Already in the winner’s enclosure here at Longchamp this season, so may just have the edge on fitness.

LOUGHNANE HAS LIKELY WINNER

⭕ 3.00 Dusseldorf (German 1,000 Guineas) After Richard Hannon’s triumph in Ireland, Karl Burke tries to add another Guineas to England’s portfolio via Darnation.

The Too Darn Hot filly out of a Galileo mare, related on the dam’s side to an English 1,000 Guineas winner, will enjoy the soft going in Dusseldorf.

Well drawn today, Darnation won the May Hill as middle leg of a hat-trick on soft last season and was not punished in the Newmarket 1,000 on a fast surface.

Her 110 rating is 21lb clear of Amy Murphy’s Geologist, who has lost her form but beat Shagara as a two-year-old, and has her chance of a revival here, blinkered first time and with the in-form Silvestre de Sousa over for the ride.

Queues Likely has shot up 35lb since November, completing a four-timer for Stan Moore, and a third for Billy Lougnane, when making all to beat the favourite, Lady Mary, at Cologne on heavy in the main trial for this, Words Of Peace third and Saman in fourth.

That was verification of Baden-Baden in October when Lady Mary, Words Of Peace and Saman were 2nd, 4th and 5th to Shagara in a top two-year-old test.

Shagara scored her fourth victory here at Dusseldorf (heavy) in early May but the runner-up has flopped since.

On grounds of improvement, Queues Likely, may be too much for Darnation and the rest of the English party which includes the unexposed Marcella (Andrew Balding).

0️⃣1️⃣ 0️⃣1️⃣ 0️⃣1️⃣: RODIN’S BINARY SYSTEM

⭕ 3.10 Curragh (Tattersalls Gold Cup) The last shall be first; that’s Auguste Rodin’s in-and-out style; 12 of 14 in the Guineas, won the Derby; last of 10 in the King George, won the Irish Champion Stakes; last of 12 in the Sheema Classic.. fill in the dotted lines?

He is 11lb ahead of his nearest rivals here and Aidan O’Brien is now going well after a wasted month.

Auguste Rodin has twice beaten Derby third, White Birch, who is a better animal on a soft surface. Lumiere Rock is without the cheekpieces that inspired her here in the Blandford.

The improver is Elegant Man, whose biggest fan is the handicapper who has lofted him level on the ratings with White Birch, though he’s yet to taste Group company never mind a Derby field. He is likely to play catch–me.

SKELLET: BIG FILLY AT BIG PRICE

⭕ 3.45 Curragh (Irish 1,000 Guineas) FORM and RATINGS in Daqman Thursday.

After an Aidan O’Brien hat-trick in this (2019-2021), Dermot Weld goes for three in a row today, bidding to back up Tahiyra for the Aga Khan with the same colours and same jockey on Azada, whose dam is half-sister to King George winner, Azamour.

Earlier in the week, I put up Azada and Ralph Beckett’s big filly Skellett as each-way outsiders at 12-1. I’m just worried for an outright bet that Azada has had only one run.

On the same day that yesterday’s Irish 2,000 winner, Rosallion, was winning the Lagardere in October, Opera Singer took the fillies’ equivalent, the Marcel Boussac for Aidan O’Brien.

River Tiber put O’Brien back in the frame yesterday, not punished unduly in the final furlong of the 2,000, third to Rosallion.

But, along with River Tiber and other Classic contenders from the yard, Opera Singer is returning from a long absence.

Like Darnation in the German equivalent, the grey Fallen Angel – Moyglare winner from Vespertilio – is trained Karl Burke. Fallen Angel was eighth in the Newmarket 1,000, Vespertilio third in the French equivalent.

Vespertilio didn’t have the best of runs from a wide draw in Paris and is the one to take out of that race.

Betdaq Betting Exchange 8.5 Vespertilio, 13.0 Skellet

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
