⭕ 2.50 Down Royal, Saturday (Ladbrokes Champion Chase) The seven declared for the 3m Grade-1 event include dual winner of the race Road To Respect and English raider Frodon. BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE

175 Minella Indo Though out of the frame in his two prep races, the eight-year-old won the Cheltenham Gold Cup in March.

168 Frodon Bryony Frost will ride the Paul Nicholls raider who won the King George last Christmas but weakened two out in the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

166 Road To Respect Winner of this in 2018 and 2019; third to Frodon in the Ryanair at Cheltenham in between. Not raced since third to Delta Work in the Savills Chase at Leopardstown (December, 2019).

163 Delta Work Winner of the Irish Gold Cup at Leopardstown (February, 2020) but was then only fifth aiming for gold at Cheltenham and filled the same position in this Champion Chase at Down Royal.

159 Galvin Unbeaten in six starts since second in a novice Listed chase at the 2020 Cheltenham festival, including the 2021 NH Chase (3m 6f) at the festival. Reappeared with Grade-3 success at Punchestown earlier this month.

152 Ravenhill Won the 3m 6f NH Chase at Cheltenham (2020) but well beaten in today’s race last year and 21-lengths third to Minella Indo at Navan.

136 Fairyhill Run Hat-trick in hurdle and two handicap chases this summer and led four pout in the Ladbrokes Munster National earlier this month.

WILD CARD FOR KING: GOOD CALL

⭕ 2.20 Clonmel What do Casa Jove (2011), Trainwreck (2017) and Irascible (2020) have in common? All won this maiden hurdle for Henry de Bromhead, who runs Guily Billy today.

Guily Billy, bought out of a point-to-point a year ago for £310,000, is expected to make up for lost time under Rachael Blackmore this afternoon.

⭕ 2.40 Stratford When a trainer knows something of the family, it’s a big help to understanding the horse and planning its career .

Alan King reports Call of The Wild ‘doing everything right’ in his preparation for this transition to hurdles, after winning his sole start, a bumper at Huntingdon, for J P McManus.

Call of The Wild is a four-year-old half-brother to King’s Newbury Spring Cup winner Chatez who went on to win over hurdles. Four-year-olds are 6-10 in this race.

⭕ 3.05 Ffos Las Pipesmoker has appeared on tracks reserved for the princes of his profession: Aintree, Ascot, Cheltenham and Sandown.

Placed behind 147 hurdler Chantry House and, in another race, 149-rated Sporting John, you’d expect to see him in at Graded level but he’s had his problems.

A change of stable and he’s reintroduced in this class-4 maiden, ready to relaunch on a track where his new connections have a 20% strike rate. They describe him as ‘a horse with a lot of ability.’

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
