ON THE RECORD: 17 OUT OF 23: Daqman landed his maximum-stakes bet yesterday, On The Record (WON 1-1) at Uttoxeter, to take his score to 17 bankers up from the last 23.

IN FRONT OVER FOUR DAYS: It was Daqman’s fourth consecutive day without loss, in a week that has included two winning naps and successes at 11-2 and 9-2.

COMANCHERO IS CHERRY RIPE

6.10 Epsom (Ladies’ Derby) The last two Ladies’ Derby winners, Epsom Salts (2012) and Tapis Libre, meet tonight, as they did last year: Epsom Salts was well beaten by Tapis Libre in 2013, so Sarah Brotherton switches to Sagesse, an ideal ride from the front.

Sarah was beaten in the Dorothy Laird Memorial at Beverley on Tuesday by Carol Bartley, who today partners Last Minute Lisa, stepped up in trip after winning over 1m 2f here recently.

Tapis Libre is 5lb lower than last year, Sagesse 6lb better for a half-length defeat by Jewelled at Brighton recently.

Tapis Libre, Epsom Salts and Sagesse are drawn in stalls 2, 3, 4 for a right set-to on the far rail. I took the jockey’s tip for Sagesse at 4.2 this morning.

6.45 Epsom There’s a stand-out here on official ratings: Conry is 9lb clear of any other horse in the race, partly due to back-to-back wins at Catterick in the Spring.

7.25 Leopardstown I just have to tip something in Kieran O’Connell’s race to show him who’s boss (you owe me one at The Jury’s next time I’m over, Kieran).

Focas Mor should give Oor Jock most to do, though Yava could improve first time in a handicap for Richard Brabazon’s in-form yard. There, that’s the first three.

7.50 Epsom The mighty atom, Cam Hardie – he can weigh out at 7st 7lb – struck a purple patch at the beginning of the month (four out of seven) but has struggled since.

Like Sagesse in the first, Dalgig should give you a ride from the front that will allow you to trade if, as I did, you take some early-mouse 3.75 on BETDAQ.

8.25 Epsom Hardie partners Related, a bridesmaid hoping to take the bouquet through first-time blinkers to overturn recent form with Compton.

But trainer David Simcock has been missing strike, with 15 horses in the frame in the last two weeks for only two winners. Maybe Brocklebank is a place punt for the local stable of Simon Dow.

Brocklebank has been dropped a stone in four runs since April over a trip too far, 3lb lower than for his CD last September, and is 14.5 this morning in the orange.

Intomist, third to Brocklebank that day, should reverse the placings at the weights and with Daniel Cremin’s 7lb claim, but his best form is with cut in the ground.

8.55 Epsom Though Comanchero can’t be penalised here for winning a boys’ race at Chester on Saturday, he’s due to go up 6lb and the same ‘boy’ Oisin Murphy – he lost his allowance earlier in the month – is on board again today, trying to get one in under the handicapper’s radar.

Murphy drives up from Brighton this afternoon with this ride in mind and, unless one of the first-time handicappers sprouts wings, Comanchero should score back to back. Nap.
