MYSTERY SOLVED
⭕ 2.10 Newbury Mysterious Night is only a few pixels away from being a winner without a penalty in this novice event following his short head defeat on debut here over the six furlong trip.
The combination of the slightly longer distance and benefit of experience are both strong positives in what could prove a race to watch for the future.
The Newbury race he contested last time out was given a reasonable stamp of robustness when the fifth home ran well next time out behind Isaac Shelby who looks a really nice recruit for Brian Meehan.
Chief BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE market rival is John Chard VC for Clive Cox and Adam Kirby. This one was also a Newbury runner-up on debut (this time over same trip and going) and ran a race full of promise behind Sydneyarms Chelsea.
He should also come on plenty for the run but the feeling is that the race that Mysterious Night contested just looked that bit hotter.
There are a stack of nicely bred debutants who help make the market for us and they would do well to hit the standard already set by the front two. Both Constitution (Andrew Balding) and Bashawaat (Team Gosden) though have attracted some early interest in the market.

⭕ 3.10 Newbury (Greatwood Stakes, Listed) Golden Lyra makes her eagerly anticipated return after her scintillating five length win on debut at Newmarket and the patience shown by William Haggas will hopefully be rewarded.
Whilst the runner-up has done nothing to advertise that form since, the third placed Nashwa certainly has !! Winning both her starts this year including a Listed race and then notably finishing a creditable third behind Tuesday in last Friday’s thrilling Oaks.
The Haggas team continue in top form and she should prove too strong for Stay Alert and Redcar winner Elegant Verse.

⭕ 4.50 Newbury They Don’t Know (or maybe punters do know?) has form figures of 22-222 so the immediate instinct is to try and find the one that beats him again!
Rendition looks a little over-priced to me – lightly raced so far, Andrew Balding’s runner showed a bit more at Redcar last time out and has a workable opening mark of 75 now in handicapping company.
