DAQMAN’S 33-1 NATIONAL WINNER: Daqman yesterday produced a sensational final day to his jumps-season value challenge to Pricewise of the Racing Post when he tipped the Irish Grand National winner, Rogue Angel (WON 16-1), at 34.0 on BETDAQ, with the headline: Final Fling: The Fairyhouse Angel!

JUMPS WIN OVER PRICEWISE 51-20: The win and the place bet took him to a final total of 51-20 over Pricewise for the 2015-16 NH season, and an overall lead of more than 180 winning bets (297-116). It capped a deluge of SIXTEEN Easter-weekend wins between the two, with Daqman winning 11-5.

STORY OF ANOTHER GREAT SEASON (see below): Daqman also landed another successful lay yesterday to make it five in a row. The full story of the jumps season and 2016 so far – celebrated below – is now contained in the Daqman Library (click on link or third item on the Daqman green icon).

DAQMAN: THE MAN WHO MAKES HEADLINES

And the first quarter of 2016 has brought a record 45 lays up out of 50, plus 100-points successful gamble at Cheltenham, where his ante-post bets included five winners. Now for the Flat.

WOODY IS THE TRADE HORSE AT HEXHAM

2.30 Hexham This is the silly season, betting wise, so I’m going to have a punt – or two – in this field of donkeys.

I fancy ‘reading’ this race. I see Whats Up Woody taking a lap out of them. He’s hared off in front before; in fact, recently, he came back to them over 3m but the drop back in trip today will suit.

I’m hoping to get a trade out of Woody, from an opening position on BETDAQ of 5.9, but the rest of my ‘read’ is for a shock as outsider Bertielicious is in the frame at 80.0 the win, 12.0 the place, in the orange as I write.

Woody’s trainer George Bewley is 50% with chasers here, while Bertie is hooded first time for Jonathan Haynes’ yard, which has scored with its last two runners.

TOP GAMBLE OF THE FAIRYHOUSE FINAL DAY

3.55 Fairyhouse Guess who is seriously missing strike here, with just one winner at the end of a losing run of 44 since Cheltenham. I say ‘missing strike’ because 11 of them have been second or third without winning.

There should be a question-mark in there somewhere, and the answer is Willie Mullins, who had had 16 losers at this Fairyhouse meeting until Blow By Blow scored in yesterday’s bumper.

Twinlight last year gave him five out of six in this Grade 2 and, at the weights today, he ought to avenge his February defeat at Naas by Days Hotel and should beat another 11-year-old, Flemenstar, a once a year horse who had his day at Leopardstown over Christmas.

But there’s an improving youngster here with a burgeoning trainer, Top Gamble for Kerry Lee, and we simply have to jump on to the bandwagon. There’ll be a hot time in the old town tonight.

4.30 Fairyhouse Road To Respect is big at 17.0 for one who finished second to Yorkhill and missed a Thurles prize by a length. Can bounce back after a holiday.

5.05 Fairyhouse Desoto County has a favourite’s chance of taking this, with the rain likely to slow the leaders and bring them back to this rear runner.

Tony Martin’s recent form revival should at least get him a place here, with four starters, best of them maybe the lightly-raced improver Anibale Fly.

I can’t back Clondaw Warrior, second last year (The Plan Man was fourth), in the expectation of further softening of the ground. Modem also wants a sounder surface.
