IN HIS PRIMUS
⭕ 4.00 Newcastle The Betdaq Betting Exchange market favours the filly Gold Digger here over Spaceman and Zain Primus in a novice event which should be fought out by the trio.
The problem for Gold Digger backers is that she has been off the course for 333 days when she finished sixth in the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot which followed up on her winning debut at Yarmouth.
Her class is already established but whether she will be fully wound up today is not.
Spaceman also has a lengthy absence to overcome. In his case 196 days since his encouraging debut at Redcar when joint second to Saber Strike who went on to win a Listed race at Newmarket earlier this month giving the form a huge boost.
Zain Primus arrives on the back of an all-weather win at Kempton in a class 4 novice. Ordinarily that would leave him with more to find in what looks a better race (despite still being officially class 4) but the form of his win has worked out especially well.
His trainer John Butler is in good form with three winners from his last 13 runners and with his fitness advantage he might well be up to the task in an intriguing race.
TAKING ON BRIDESMAID HEN PARTY
⭕ 5.05 Newcastle Amusingly Hen Party is turning into the bridesmaid with form figures of 3222-4 and she has been a beaten favourite in her last two starts.
Concert takes a much needed drop in class and a reproduction of her Wolverhampton fourth two starts ago might well be good enough at this level, although the current form of her trainer Jack Channon (1 from 21) is a concern and she looks too short in the market.
At bigger odds Annie Edson Taylor (American schoolteacher – yes, I had to Google!) ran well after a break to finish fourth over course and distance last time and that form makes her the percentage call.
DIAMOND TO SPARKLE AGAIN
⭕ 7.50 Hexham Passing Diamond won well over two miles earlier this month when she made all the running and should be equally as effective over this longer trip.
It looks a coin flip of a race with Bold Step running in the Royal colours. Nicky Henderson’s runner made a pleasing debut at Exeter when second but didn’t find as much as expected after travelling really well in that bumper. As such, there’s a question mark for me over the trip which is the primary reason why I am favouring Passing Diamond today.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
