50.0 IN RUNNING NO-HOPER FLASHES HOME TO LAND DAQMAN’S NAP: A huge gamble on Daqman’s nap looked lost when Glencora was 50.0 in running in the final furlong at Kempton last night but David Probert timed a withering late run to perfection and got the David Elsworth filly up on the line from ‘nowhere’. It was a case of 3-2-1 for Daqman after his first two tips finished third, then second, overall beaten little more than a length.

✔️ WON 11-8 GLENCORA (napped for another winning day)

SEARCHING HIGH AND LOW FOR HITS ON THE DAY AND IN ADVANCE: Glencora, a daughter of Gleneagles, looks nailed on to win again with a further step up in trip. Meanwhile Daqman searches for more hits at a low level today and continues to compile his early-bird Fortune Cookies in the higher grades, with entries listed where possible, including three this week.

MIDNIGHT TO STRIKE EARLY

⭕ 1.33 Fakenham An early season skirmish between Nicky Henderson and Alan King should prevail here with Go Chique and Midnight Ginger respectively.

Both have similar profiles – bumper winners on debut who were beaten on the their second starts.

Go Chique made a winning debut at Southwell but was disappointing on her hurdling debut at Market Rasen when sent off favourite but trailed in sixth, beaten 24 lengths.

She certainly doesn’t look a world beater and better value on the BETDAQ Betting Exchange may lie with Midnight Ginger who makes her hurdling debut. She looked good when making a winning debut at Newbury in December (over 1m 4f) and then was stepped up in class to contest a Listed bumper at Market Rasen where she finished a creditable fourth.

That form stacks up strongly in the context of this modest event and she can continue the good recent form of the King stable.

Hopefully she will prove too progressive for the rather more exposed pair of Champagne Terri and Timetoroe.

LEXI STILL THE ONE

⭕ 2.20 Southwell Lexi The One looks a solid bet to defy her 6lb penalty for her course and distance win eight days ago.

She couldn’t have been more impressive on her first visit to Southwell – winning by five and a half lengths – and as I always point out Southwell really is the stereotypical horses for courses track.

She is up against Cesifire who also won on the same day at Southwell in the other division of the race won by ‘Lexi.

She also won by five and a half lengths – what are the odds on that !!!

But her win came in a slower time and in what looked a weaker division.

SURPLUS TO REQUIREMENTS

⭕ 7.45 Newcastle Burrows Seeside is the obvious one bidding for a hat-trick but is up another 5lb and only scrambled home last time.

The value might be with Insurplus who is a five time winner at Newcastle and with another drop from the handicapper should find his next win around the corner.

Despite the field size, it doesn’t look the strongest of contests.

DAQMAN’S BETS (staked to win 10 points)

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
