DAQMAN NAP IS ON TARGET AGAIN: Impressive! says the commentator as Star Archer (WON 7-4) passed the post at Wolverhampton last night. Who else knew? Daqman, of course. It was yet another impressive nap by the wizard of tipping, whose service is free to the BETDAQ site.
READ THE MARKET NOT THE PAPERS: The irrepressible Daqman has another target in his sights today. Weâre talking about pre-race trainer interviews in the daily racing papers. Do you actually read this stuff? Can you ever catch them right? Daqman has the answer which is to follow the BETDAQ market instead.
PAPER TRAIL LEADS NOWHERE
Is it worth the paper itâs printed on? The Racing Postâs pre-race trainer interviews, presumably intended to âput you onâ the winner, more often than not âput you offâ.
I stopped looking for a while because my first choice was diminished as not expected because of âground worriesâ; âmight not be fit enoughâ or âmight need the raceâ.
But the âmightâ too often became âmightyâ or majestic as the beast in question trotted up after I had swerved it, following the stable advice.
I donât mind getting turned over occasionally, and I, myself, delight in turning over the layers or, more intentionally, the so-called price-wise columns.
Itâs when the off-putting âmightâ (or might not) is applied to an animal who is the subject of an alâmightây gamble and wins with its head in his chest, the jockey not waiting to get his breath back before he tells an ITV Me-Too interviewer, strolling beside him:
âWe knew days ago that he was well back to his best; in fact, had improved a stone! It was just a matter of getting round really.â
I donât have a system about all this mis/disinformation, but I know a man who does.
He tells me: âBack the second string of certain top trainers. They donât always win but, at their prices, are leagues in front in the overall-returns column.â
As for âinformationâ from the trainers, he declares: âBack a big stable when it has several runners in the same race.
âThe one to be on is often mentioned as an afterthought in a throw-away line at the end of a lot of hoo-hah about the others, as âmight have a decent chance, tooâ.
Thereâs that âmightâ again, but this time meaning âa mighty bigâ chance.. but we donât want you to know about it until our money is down! Twas ever thus.

SOUTHWELL MIGHT JUST BE VOLATILE
Just one meeting and just six races, thatâs how we roll at Rolleston on Tuesday AKA Southwell.
4.30 Southwell The only non handicap on the card and my best bet of the day runs here.
Volatile should carry these home if taking to the surface. Itâs a big âifâ and not one I usually like taking at Southwell but on a day of slim pickings I canât be too choosy.
The Jamie Osborne trained runner has over a stone in hand on Essential on official ratings although Essential does bring the âessentialâ course form to the table. He stayed on well to win a handicap over seven furlongs here last time out.
Light Laughter was a creditable fifth at Lingfield on his first start for Charlie Fellowes having previously been trained in Ireland by Dermot Weld. He remains unexposed and could be the danger but preference has to be for Volatile who saw off an odds-on favourite at Chelmsford last time out.
5.00 Southwell Tight sprint handicap to conclude the card and Iâm keen on Archimedes. Although he was a beaten favourite here last time out, it did come over the longer six furlong trip and I think he is more effective here.
He won off this mark last January when todayâs pilot Josephine Gordon was also onboard and the pair can strike in race where there are big question marks over the rivals.
The BETDAQ market is struggling to sort out a favourite. Vying for that status is Crosse Fire (finished stone last here last time and looks high in the weights) and Red Stripes (only won one in nine starts here).
