EFL CUP WEDNESDAY: We preview Wednesday’s EFL Cup replay between ARSENAL v CHELSEA with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

8pm What a big night ahead at The Emirates. Many will say “it’s only the League Cup” but with Arsenal’s season in tatters, a cup final is exactly what they need at the moment. We had a goalless draw in the first leg, so it’s set up nicely for a night of high drama. Chelsea are favourites to win in 90 minutes, with the match odds at the time of writing; Arsenal 2.88, Chelsea 2.72 and the draw is 3.45. In the ‘To Qualify’ market, Arsenal are trading 2.28 while Chelsea are 1.78.
We’re not sure that Chelsea should be favourites here. Of course, Arsenal have struggled this season – however, they always play well at home and have always been tough to beat at home when hosting the ‘top six’ in recent seasons. The sides met recently here in the league, ending in a 2-2 draw – perhaps it is wise to lay Chelsea and have the draw on your side.
No one would have been expecting a 0-0 draw in the first leg after seeing the 2-2 draw in the Premier League, however as we all know first legs can be quite cagey. We could see similar in this fixture early on, with neither side attacking too much – obviously as the game goes on, that will change though. Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.85 at the moment, which looks about right from a value point of view. We expect this to be a very enjoyable watch tonight, and at the odds we’re happy to lay Chelsea at 2.72 which looks too short with Arsenal’s impressive home record.
