BETDAQ’S EMMET RYAN scored with two out of three of his selections in the midweek Premier League fixtures with Liverpool and Chelsea doing the business on his two advised bets. He previews some of the big games this weekend building up to Monday’s big clash between Manchester United and Southampton.

We’ve got to wait until Monday night for the game of the weekend but there is plenty of EPL betting action to whet the appetite before Southampton host Man United.

Some games leave oddmakers with little choice but to present tremendous value and Monday night’s clash of the Saints and United is just such an offering. The main event bets all offer serious options worth a punt and that, in turn, means you should expect heavy fluctuations for in-play betting. Even with the game at the tail end of this round of fixtures, there is already solid money in the market and that is going to ramp up when the game has Monday night all to itself. Play smart and watch how the market moves during the game.

In terms of what way to go ahead of time, United are a tricky beast. There’s no question they have talent but even with their recent good run they carry an air of unpredictability. Instead you must look to their opponents to make this call. Southampton are, per all the numbers men, favourites to finish in the top four but that has more to do with what is going on beneath the Saints than their own play. In a straight up fight, against a team with this attacking talent it’s hard to see Southampton’s defence holding. I expect a tight one but I like Man United to win at 2.72.

The blue half of Manchester is enjoying a renaissance after some stodgy form the open the season. Sergio Aguero’s miracle performance against Bayern Munich looks to have been the kick start Man City’s season needed and they are deserving heavy favourites at home to Everton on Saturday evening. With City at home, and looking for a boost before a vital Champions League game on Wednesday, there is ample reason to believe they will come out all guns blazing in this one. That has mean leaning towards the Asian Handicap, I like City here at -1/1.5 at 2.06.

Sunday sees Swansea arrive at Upton Park in a clash where both sides are flying higher than anyone expected at this stage of the season. The Hammers are what we know they are, the only question is whether they can keep up their recent strong run in spite of having an attack only marginally less anaemic than Swansea’s. Don’t expect many goals in this one but do expect a winner. The Hammers are at home to an opponent that hasn’t lit up the sky away from home this season. Back West Ham straight up at 2.44 for the win.
