EUROPA LEAGUE THURSDAY: We preview Thursday’s Europa League games between FC PORTO V RANGERS, SK SLOVAN BRATISLAVA V WOLVES, FK PARTIZAN V MANCHESTER UNITED, CELTIC V LAZIO and ARSENAL V VITORIA SC all with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

FC PORTO V RANGERS

5.55pm We have another busy night ahead in the Europa League and we start with Porto hosting Rangers. You won’t find a more even group than Group G with all four teams locked on three points each after two games! We should get plenty of drama from this group, and this is a massive fixture for Rangers – anything here would be a huge result.

The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; FC Porto 1.5, Rangers 7.4 and the draw is 4.8. Both sides come into this clash off the back of disappointing results; Porto lost away to Feyenoord in this competition while Rangers could only draw with Hearts at the weekend. Rangers would have been gutted to lose 2-1 away to Young Boys last time out in this competition and if we’re being honest; their away form in Europe just isn’t good enough. We like Porto at 1.5 in the match odds, however we much prefer under 2.5 goals at 2.2. Unders has collect in Porto’s last three, while Rangers just don’t play attacking football away from home in Europe.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Under 2.5 goals at 2.2.

SK SLOVAN BRATISLAVA V WOLVES

5.55pm Things were looking quite bleak for Wolves when they got beaten by Besiktas in their opening group game but they have massively turned things around since. They managed to get their first Premier League win of the season, won their second game in the Europa League and then even managed to beat Manchester City away from home! Another win would be a huge boost for them here given they are currently in third position in Group K.

The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; SK Slovan Bratislava 5.2, Wolves 1.78 and the draw is 3.9. If we’re being honest this is a pretty weak group and Wolves should easily outclass these sides. However as we seen in their opening game, winning in Europe is easier said than done! Slovan Bratislava are unbeaten in their two Europa League games and have scored six goals – four of those coming at home. Ultimately Wolves should get the job done but from a betting point of view we have to lay them at 1.78 – we fully expect a closer game than those odd suggest and the value is with the lay.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Wolves at 1.78.

FK PARTIZAN V MANCHESTER UNITED

5.55pm Manchester United stopped the rot with a draw at home to Liverpool at the weekend. Perhaps not the result many of their fans would be happy with years ago but it’s a sign of how fall they have fallen. They performed better than they have recently, but the question remains can they repeat that performance in a tricky away game?

The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Partizan Belgrade 3.35, Manchester United 2.42 and the draw is 3.4. Everything we’ve seen this season from United suggests that the 2.42 is a cracking lay. They have really struggled away from home and they’ve barely created anything in front of goal. Their away performance against Newcastle prior to the International Break was woeful and AZ Alkmaar were able to keep a clean sheet against them too in this competition. Until we see more from them, we’re happy to lay them at odds like this away from home.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Manchester United at 2.42.

CELTIC V LAZIO

8pm This will be another big European Night for Celtic at home, and it’s the type of game that they can rise to the occasion for. Lazio aren’t the force that they once were, but they’re still a big name that Celtic and their fans will have the atmosphere rocking for. Celtic have got off to an impressive start with Group E and currently sit top with four points. Things are tight though and they can’t afford any slip ups at home.

We have a very open market with the match odds at the time of writing currently trading; Celtic 2.72, Lazio 2.78 and the draw is 3.55. Celtic were able to warm-up for this fixture by banging in six goals at the weekend, however they did suffer a shock loss to Livingston recently. Lazio could only manage a 3-3 draw at home to Atalanta who have been totally outclassed in the Champions League this season, but it’s fair to say that Serie A is many levels above the Scottish League. We can see Lazio scoring a couple of goals here – they have been scoring goals for fun this season and we like over 2.5 goals at 1.9. Celtic are well able to create chances and we expect an open game with plenty of chances.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Over 2.5 goals at 1.9.

ARSENAL V VITORIA SC

8pm Arsenal are two from two in the Europa League so far this season and we can’t see that winning run coming to an end tonight. Vitoria SC currently sit bottom of Group F with two losses from their opening two games and they’ve been unable to even get on the scoresheet in their two games. Arsenal look at their most comfortable on Thursday nights, and they should win easily here.

The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Arsenal 1.29, Vitoria SC 13.0 and the draw is 6.4. Arsenal suffered another poor defeat away from home in the Premier League on Monday night, but as we seen last season – they are a lot more comfortable in the Europa League. Sides just don’t put them under as much pressure as other Premier League sides and they can find space to create chances. We expect them to win comfortably tonight and cover the handicap. They’re currently 1.7 -1.5 goals and that looks massive.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Arsenal -1.5 goals to beat Vitoria SC at 1.7.
