GAVIN CROMWELL: Brand Ambassador Gavin Cromwell previews his quartet of runners this weekend, including a trio at Navan.

Wexford Saturday

Jovial Jack is our sole runner at Wexford on Saturday who runs in the 2m½f handicap hurdle (1.35pm). He’s freshened up after a short break and he was certainly disappointing the last day at Tipperary, but it was clear that he didn’t enjoy the real deep ground that was on offer there. We should have a better sight of him here and we’ll just have to see how he goes but hopefully it’ll be an encouraging run that we can kick on from.

Navan Saturday

Giselles Ausie had a barrier trial recently at Dundalk and she’s now ready to rock and roll. It’s not a desperately deep maiden, because of the conditions – being a filly’s auction maiden (1.20pm). She is a nice filly, though, and will hopefully run with promise. The only thing we’re concerned about is that the 5½f trip might be a touch sharp for her.

Harbanaker has been kept busy throughout summer and he turns up again here in the 1m2f apprentice handicap (4.10pm). Our own apprentice Robbie Whearty rides and he’s very good value for his claim, so hopefully we can be competitive again. Obviously, he’s got his head in front once this summer and this is definitely his level so hopefully, he can do it again.

Kalanoura runs in the 1m6f handicap (4.45pm). She’s in good heart and she ran over this course and distance the last day. She’s still a maiden but, like Harbanaker, she’s a consistent type, and while this looks a slightly deeper race than the last day we’re claiming the 7lbs with Robbie Whearty so we’re hopeful she can run well.
