PREVIEW

The next round of Bundesliga fixtures kick off with VfB Stuttgart’s visit to the Olympiastadion where they face newly-promoted Hertha Berlin.

Hertha have had a pretty tough start to life back in the top flight and they have yet to pick up a victory. Manger Michael Preetz knows the main objective this season is to avoid relegation, so 13th place after three matches is keeping pace with expectations. The hosts have drawn their past two matches and have shown great fight to grab late goals to take a share of the spoils.

As for Stuttgart, they hammered Shalke on the opening weekend and then picked up a point against a decent Borussia M’gladbach outfit. Their unbeaten run came to an end against Bayer Leverkusen in a 1-0 defeat last time out. Stuttgart have impressed at the back so far this season and they have only been breached twice in three fixtures. However, Bruno Labbadia will have to make do without defender Khalid Boulahrouz after he was dismissed last weekend.

The visitors have plenty of attacking talent in the side and the partnership of Martin Harnik and Cacau is one to reckon with. Between the pair they have scored three of Stuttgart’s four goals.

Hertha have yet to keep a clean sheet this season and will come under plenty of pressure from Stuttgart’s attacking style of play. Stuttgart took all three points on their last visit to the Olympiastadion and at around 3.15 on the ‘Daq’ – they look a good bet to do so again.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)

Back Stuttgart at around 3.15:  4 points
Thursday’s Return: -6
