PREVIEW
Blackpool and Birmingham meet this evening for their first leg play-off game looking to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking. Both clubs were narrowly relegated last season and Backpool are back in the play-offs for the second time in the last three years.

The Tangerines beat Cardiff in a thriller at Wembley two years ago and fans will be hoping they still have that play-off magic that served them so well. Ian Holloway’s side finished the season in great form and without a defeat in seven Championship games.

In that run Blackpool have won four times at home. The previous two home wins have been to nil, but Blackpool have not enjoyed playing Birmingham this season.

Birmingham started to struggle towards the end of the campaign, although beating the league champions 2-0 sets them up perfectly for this clash. It finished 2-2 when the sides last clashed and another draw looks on the cards.

Blackpool have been so strong at home over the past few weeks that Birmingham would be happy to head back to St Andrews with it all square. I’d therefore recommend taking the 3.4 available on BETDAQ for the draw. Both clubs have some top attacking options with Marlon King for Birmingham and Kevin Phillips for Blackpool, who both have 16 league goals each..

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back the draw at 3.4: 3 points

Thursday’s Return: -4 points

MAY RETURN TO DATE: -16.00
