PREVIEW

After a sluggish start, Argentina now need a win in their final Group A match to guarantee a place in the last eight of the Copa America. Two tame draws against Bolivia and Colombia were not what La Albiceleste fans were expecting coming into the tournament and performances must improve.

Perhaps somewhat surprisingly Argentina remain the tournament favourites at around 2.6, while the Brazilians are trading at around 3.75 on the ‘Daq’.

Sergio Batista’s outfit have so far scored just one goal in the competition, but it is hard to see anything but a win for the side against a team ranked as low as 53rd in the world by FIFA.

Costa Rica will have been delighted with their two second half goals that secured victory over Bolivia, but they can expect a far sterner test against Argentina. Ricardo La Volpe’s side really struggled against Colombia and could not even muster a shot on target during the contest. Although La Albiceleste have struggled in their opening two outings, the side will be strongly supported by their vociferous home support.

Three points would secure a safe passage to the quarter-finals and with that in mind I anticipate a comfortable afternoon for the hosts. Backing the Argentines to be ahead at the break and the final whistle at around 1.62 on Betdaq looks the best option here.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back Argentina HT/FT double result at 1.62: 6 points
Sunday’s Return: +4.02 points
