PREVIEW
Andy Murray’s search for that elusive first Grand Slam has taken him into the fourth round of his favourite Slam – the hard courts of New York. So far the Scotsman has only dropped one set but his play has been steady rather than spectacular. The 2008 runner-up only dropped seven games in his first round match but still didn’t look on top form. He bettered that result when an impressive winner against Ivan Dodig but then laboured to a four set win over Fernando Verdasco on Saturday, needing four sets and three tie breaks to squeeze through.

Early tomorrow morning Murray takes on the rising star of Canadian tennis, Milos Raonic. The Montenegrin-born youngster has made a big impact on the ATP Tour with his mighty serve and relentless accuracy with it. Raonic won the ATP Newcomer of the Year Award last term and spanked the useful James Blake in straight sets in the third round.

Despite being down to meet in three tournaments previously, Murray and Raonic have only played once with the other two scheduled encounters decided as walkovers. Raonic did win the only match that was played but it was on Muray’s least favourite clay surface.

The Canadian’s serve will trouble Murray but the latter is regarded as one of the best returners in the game and it would be disappointing if he didn’t have the defence to neutralise Raonic’s main weapon. Murray to win the match by three sets to one at around 3.5 on BETDAQ looks worth a play.
