PREVIEW

Scotland don’t have a great record against the Czech Republic but they look to have a decent chance of winning this contest.

And if Craig Levein’s men are going to reach the Euro 2012 finals in Poland and Ukraine then this really is a must-win game.

The Scots trail the Czechs by five points, but do boast a game in hand so still have a realistic chance of catching the Eastern Europeans and claiming the runner-up spot behind Spain and a playoff berth.

The reverse fixture ended 1-0 to the hosts in Prague, but not before the visitors had put in a solid defensive display.

I’d expect a similar tactical encounter here which may not be pleasing to neutrals, but neither team will want to hand the advantage to their opponents.

The Tartan Army will be roaring their team on at Hampden and the absence of Petr Cech will give the home side cause for optimism.

Having won the last match between the sides here 18 months ago, albeit against the run of play, Levein’s troops will know they have what it takes to claim the three points, especially with captain Darren Fletcher set to return.

With the teams priced similarly on BETDAQ, the value looks to be with Scotland (2.63) rather than Czech Republic (3.0).

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)

Scotland to win at around 2.63: 4 points
Friday’s Return: -6.50 points
