PREVIEW

Manchester United sent out a clear message to their rivals on Monday night as they hammered Tottenham 3-0 at Old Trafford. The champions were missing both Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic and yet Spurs still couldn’t find a way through. In-form Wayne Rooney scored his second in as many league games and United will be relishing Arsenal’s visit on Sunday.

The Red Devils have won 21 of their past 22 home matches, while they have an excellent record against the Gunners at Old Trafford as well. United have won five of the last six meetings between the teams. David De Gea gave a far more assured performance in goal and his handling was excellent against Spurs’ long range efforts.

Arsene Wenger breathed a huge sigh of relief on Wednesday evening as Arsenal ran out 2-1 winners at Udinese to secure their place in the Champions League. The manager’s attention can now turn to domestic matters and there is much work to be done.

The Gunners have yet to win from two games or even find the back of the net. Further problems have arisen from suspensions to Gervinho, Alex Song and Emmanuel Frimpong. Even with a full strength side Arsenal have struggled against United and their wait for a win at Old Trafford looks set to continue.

United will be full of confidence after the start they have made and will be keen to maintain their 100% record. At around 1.54 on the ‘Daq’ I’m happy to back a home win.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)

Manchester United at around 1.54: 5 points
Saturday’s Return: +4.68 points
