Barcelona have recently shown the first signs of vulnerability this season, going two matches without a win which, for a team as accustomed to winning as Barca, must seem like a lifetime.
Firstly, they drew 2-2 with tonight’s rivals Malaga in the first leg of their Copa Del Rey quarter-final and then on the weekend they suffered their first league loss of the season when Real Sociedad somehow managed to overturn a 2-0 deficit and win 3-2.
This will be the third meeting between the sides in less than a month and, although the Catalans did beat tonight’s hosts 3-1 in the first meeting, the contest was a lot closer than the scoreline suggests.
Malaga have been in good form this term, making the knockout stages of the Champions League and they are up to fifth in La Liga. They recently beat Real Madrid 3-2 at home and it is at La Rosaleda that the Andalusia club play so well. They have hit 25 goals there this term in the league compared to just five away.
It would be something of a surprise if Manuel Pelligrini’s men could win against the talent of Tito Vilanova’s men but, at just 1.42 on BETDAQ, the away side offer little value.
