PREVIEW
Chelsea once again proved to be Barcelona’s nemesis as they pulled off an unlikely 1-0 win last Wednesday. Roberto Di Matteo knows his side are only half way there as they have to get a result at the Nou Camp this evening. The Blues kept successive clean sheets by holding Arsenal at arm’s length on Saturday, although they really needed the win to help finish in the top four.

Di Matteo used the game at the Emirates to rest some key players after a grueling few matches and Frank Lampard and co can expect to return to the starting XI in Spain. The Blues are still sweating on the fitness of Didier Drogba and he’ll be a huge loss if unable to take the pitch. His winner against Barca last week extended Chelsea’s unbeaten run against them to six games.

Pep Guardiola’s title hopes went up in smoke on Saturday as Real Madrid left Catalonia with all three points to open an eight point lead. It’s two successive losses for Barca and not the ideal preparation ahead of Chelsea’s visit.

With the league all but over, Barca have just the Champions League to concentrate on as they bid to land successive European titles for the first time since AC Milan in 1990. The hosts will fancy their chances of turning the tables on the Blues as it should be harder to defend on the larger Nou Camp pitch. Barca have been excellent at home in Europe and have not been beaten for 15 straight games. However, Barca have failed to keep a clean sheet in their past two home European games and with Chelsea’s record against them, I fancy the Blues to progress at around 3.0 on BETDAQ (commission free – see link above).
