MATCH POINT: Our tennis tipping column previews the US Open Men’s tournament with a recommended bet on the 0% BETDAQ MARKET !!.

The US Open starts on Monday and it’s no surprise to see Novak Djokovic as the ante-post odds-on favourite on BETDAQ as the Serb tries to pull one clear in the Grand Slam titles battle which is currently a three-way tie:

2️⃣ 0️⃣ Roger Federer
2️⃣ 0️⃣ Rafael Nadal
2️⃣ 0️⃣ Novak Djokovic

With his two peers missing from Flushing Meadows this year – Federer (awaiting knee surgery) and Nadal (foot injury) the path looks fairly straight forward for Djokovic who is also bidding for a calendar sweep of the Slams however make no mistake it’s Grand Slam win #21 that will the sweetest reward for Novak.

Djokovic starts his campaign on Tuesday against Danish teenage qualifier Holger Rune.

You can argue that the biggest threat to Djokovic could be ‘Father Time’ as at some point there will be a changing of the guard in the men’s game but there’s certainly no evidence yet that Djokovic, aged 34, is showing any deterioration. Quite the opposite, he is thriving on a busy schedule which has also seen him compete in the Tokyo Olympics where he was beaten by eventual gold medal winner Alexander Zverev in the semi-finals.

Zverev is seeded four but a bigger danger to Djokovic is again likely to come from the Russian Daniil Medvedev.

Medvedev is in no mood to gift Djokovic the crucial title: He said “He is just amazing, I want to say I’m going to try my best to keep it at 20 for all of them. I’m sure Novak wants 45 slams, playing until he is 55. But we’re here to try to keep up his level and to beat him.

“We’re here to not let him win the US Open. If I talk just for myself, I want to win the US Open. I don’t care if it’s in the final against a qualifier or against Novak. I just want to win this tournament”.

Medvedev arrives in New York in pretty goof form himself. He captured his fourth ATP Masters 1000 title in Toronto and also reached the semi-finals in Cincinnati.

He plays Richard Gasquet in the first round on Tuesday and should hopefully give us, and Djokovic a good run for our money.
