GENTLEMEN’S SINGLES – SEMI-FINALS
C. Alcaraz 1 v D. Medvedev 3
Centre Court 3.30pm

The second semi-final might feature the number one seed in Carlos Alcaraz but it looks an altogether more competitive match than the first semi – on paper at least.

20-year-old Alcaraz has dropped two sets en route to the semi-final and meets Daniil Medvedev, seven years his senior and ranked three. Medvedev had the toughest of quarter finals against Christopher Eubanks – finally coming through in five sets.

The two have met twice previously and whilst it’s 1-1 the pertinent formline surely comes from their 2021 Wimbledon second round encounter when Medvedev ran out a comfortable 6-4 6-1 6-2 winner.

However the Spaniard has progressed at a rate of knots since that defeat and won their previous meeting with ease to lift the Indian Wells crown on a hard course surface.

Alcaraz’s first serve, in particular, is a potent weapon and if on target will prove hard for Medvedev to counter on the grass surface on which he has never totally convinced on.

Both players are in uncharted waters and I fancy this one might just go the distance with a 3-2 either way the call on BETDAQ.

RECOMMENDED BET
1.5 points win ALCAREZ TO WIN 3-2 at around 7.2
1.5 points win MEDVEDEV TO WIN 3-2 at around 8.2
