PREVIEW
Bayern Munich bid to join European heavyweights Inter Milan, Barcelona and Manchester United by winning the Treble – the league, domestic cup and European Cup – in recent times and they look all set to do so against vastly inferior opposition in VfB Stuttgart.

Having won the league by a record margin and seen off old rivals Borussia Dortmund with a hard-fought 2-1 win in last Saturday’s Champions League final, they will look to go one better than last year when they were thrashed 5-2 by Dortmund in the final of this competition.

The Bavarians have been dealt a blow of sorts with the news that Dante and Luiz Gustavo will miss the DFB Pokal final due to their involvement with Brazil in the FIFA Confederations Cup late this month.

Stuttgart have an almost full-strength squad to pick from. Ibrahima Traore will replace Shinji Okazaki from the team that drew 2-2 with Mainz on the final day of the Bundesliga season, but the squad should be unchanged otherwise, with Alexandru Maxim keeping his place in the first 11.
This will Munich boss Jupp Heynckes’ final game in German football and he will hope to bow out by extending Bayern’s record of 15 wins in this competition.

Bayern have won the last seven meetings and should go out with a bang in a high-scoring contest.
