PREVIEW
It wasn’t long ago when you would have looked at a Brazil v Japan game and wrote it off as an easy win for the Samba Boys before it had even kicked off. How things have changed. Brazil come into the Confederations Cup ranked 22nd in the world, their lowest ever ranking and have struggled for form in recent times.

They played well against England but in the end were lucky to come away with a draw in a recent friendly and although a 3-0 win versus France last time out looks good, it was a weakened French team. Overall, Luis Felipe Scolari’s men have drawn four of their last six matches and this tournament, coming at the end of long seasons for many of their players, is unlikely to see an upturn in form.

Japan were well beaten by Brazil the last time they met at the end of last year and it would be a shock to see them beat the five-time World Cup winners but they are no rollovers either. They are tough and committed and have a bit of flair of their own to think they can provide a sterner challenge then many might envisage.

The best bet looks to be for this to be all square a half-time and at around 2.32 on BETDAQ that looks a fair bet. The Japan players will be out to make an impact against their more illustrious opponents and the favourites might have to bide their time.
