PREVIEW
England have made the long journey to Brazil to round off their season with a friendly that completes the second leg of their 150th anniversary celebrations. The Three Lions did of course win 2-1 at Wembley back in February but England fans who had thought they’d turned the corner were left disappointed as Roy Hodgson has not overseen notable improvement in the side.

A World Cup qualifying campaign that has seen them beat just Macedonia and San Marino so far has been poor and the 1-1 draw against Ireland in midweek showed little imagination or cutting edge. It seems unlikely a long trip to South America after a hard season will see much improvement.

Brazil are in no great shakes themselves and have won just one of five matches since Felipe Scolari’s reign started with that narrow defeat at Wembley, and they will be desperate for revenge. It’s clear they have superior talent on the pitch but they are not a team to be trusting at around 1.52 on BETDAQ for the win.

Despite England’s troubles they’ve lost just one game in normal time under Hodgson – a run of 16 games – and, while they look booked for more mediocrity, backing them with a +1 Asian handicap at around 1.85 on BETDAQ could be a smart bet. It’s rare they lose by more than one goal and they might just snatch a draw.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back England with a +1 Asian handicap at around 1.98 on BETDAQ: 5 points

Saturday: +3.65 points
JUNE RETURN TO DATE: +3.65 points
