Tottenham absolutely destroyed Inter Milan in the first leg of their Europa League last-16 clash last week and visit the San Siro tonight seemingly assured of a place in the quarter-finals. However, we saw last night when Bayern Munich were given a real scare by Arsenal that nothing is definite in football and Barcelona’s reversal of a 2-0 deficit to AC Milan on Tuesday was another reminder that there are no easy games at this level of European competition.
Spurs travel to Italy having lost their first league game for 13 matches when going down to Liverpool 3-2 at Anfield, but their wounds were largely self-inflicted and they should have probably won the game on the weekend.
Inter look a shadow of the side that won the treble a few seasons ago and lost 1-0 at home to Bologna in their most recent outing. They’ve failed to win half of their home games in Serie A this term and have won just three of their last 11 matches in any competition.
Tottenham have hit three goals in every encounter with the Italian club, but will have to do without the suspended Gareth Bale, although Aaron Lennon has made the trip after missing out on Sunday. His pace will frighten a inconsistent Inter defence and the visitors should arguably be favourites.
The 3.25 on BETDAQ for an away win is a good price and Tottenham can underline their tag as favourites for the Europa League outright with a victory.
