PREVIEW
The lovable Michael van Gerwen is already assured of top spot in the Premier League Darts but is one of four-semi-finalists at the O2 Arena tonight looking to scoop the £150,000 first prize. The in-form Dutchman has lost only three of 16 matches in the popular series this term and is a warm favourite at around 1.32 on BETDAQ to see off James Wade later and set up a final against either Phil Taylor or compatriot Raymond van Barneveld afterwards.

James Wade only won seven of his 16 matches this term but he did beat van Gerwen 7-4 before the tables were reversed a month later and van Gerwen came out on top. The Machine leads Mighty Mike 9-4 in head-to-head meetings but van Gerwen has discovered the winning habit in the last year and clearly loves this quick-fire format. He’s a real fans favourite and will lap up the attention and pressure later.

While he is a bit short to be backing for this match, the best bet looks to be to back him at around 1.96 on BETDAQ to lift the trophy outright.

If he sees off Wade, then it’s likely he’ll face 16-time World Champion Phil Taylor, but The Power won’t hold many fears for Mighty Mike having been well beaten in both their encounters in the league this season.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back Michael van Gerwen to win the Premier League outright at around 1.96 on BETDAQ: 5 points
