WORLD MATCHPLAY DARTS: MULTIMAN switches his attentions to the darts and the start of the World Matchplay Darts at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool today.
A little bit of darts diversion, if I may, and hopefully a confidence boosting double.
The World Matchplay Darts gets underway at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool on Saturday – the tournament that Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor has won an astonishing 14 times and is out to defend his title.
However, despite Taylor’s domination it’s the youngster Michael van Gerwen who is favourite after his surge in darts domination which saw him win his first World title earlier in the year.
The wizard from Down Under, Simon Whitlock, is starting to play some good darts again since being relegated from the Premier League and should prove too strong for Kevin Painter whilst James Wade looks to have a straightforward task against Andy smith.
