PREMIER LEAGUE: We preview the Premier League games on Boxing Day with a recommended BETDAQ bet in each.

TOTTENHAM V SOUTHAMPTON

12.30pm Spurs were really impressive on Saturday evening away to Burnley, and Harry Kane was on fire. If they turn up in the same form, then Southampton have little chance of getting anything from this game. Spurs are pretty short for all three points though, only trading 1.37 in the match odds market – so we will have to look elsewhere for a bit of value. Southampton have struggled for goals this season, and that came up again at the weekend when they could only draw 1-1 at home to Huddersfield, who have a poor away record this season. They haven’t been great away from home either this season, although they have had some tough fixtures in fairness. We feel that Southampton can keep this tight, but ultimately come up short, and under 2.5 goals jumps off the page at 2.2.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Under 2.5 goals at 2.2.

BOURNEMOUTH V WEST HAM

3pm We have some very open markets today, and this is the first of them. The Christmas dinner for West Ham fans wouldn’t have tasted nice after losing 3-2 to Newcastle after going 1-0 up. Prior to that, Newcastle had lost eight of nine winless games and West Ham would have expected to win with home advantage. Bournemouth have had a tough run of fixtures lately, but their tactics haven’t been great either. Playing open football against City and Liverpool just means you are going to get beaten if you’re Bournemouth, and they shipped eight goals in those two games. Having had to play United, Liverpool, Chelsea and City in their last four games – this will be a welcome return to calmer waters and we feel that they can get a result here. Laying West Ham at 2.84 away from home looks good value.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay West Ham at 2.84.

CHELSEA V BRIGHTON

3pm Brighton picked up a very hard fought 1-0 win against Watford on Saturday, although its difficult to see them getting anything from this game. Everton managed to keep Chelsea at bay on Saturday in the early kick off, however the home side failed to register a shot on target and Chelsea probably should have won. Back at home now, they should be able to get back to winning ways – Brighton have been pretty solid at home this season but have struggled away from home and for that reason, we feel that Chelsea can cover the handicap here. They’re currently trading 2.12 -2 goals on the Asian Handicap (stakes void if they win by exactly two) and that looks good value to us.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Chelsea -2 goals Asian Handicap to beat Brighton at 2.12.

HUDDERSFIELD V STOKE

3pm The pressure on Stoke and Mark Hughes was eased before Christmas with a massive three points against West Brom. As we noted in our Saturday preview, a loss would have seen Stoke drop into the bottom three, however now they sit in 14th and another win here would see them get themselves into a position to go into the top half of the table over the New Year. Huddersfield are tough to beat though, as we seen with them grinding out a 1-1 away to Southampton on Saturday. They have been very solid at home this season, nearly drawing with City and beating United. This should be a tight affair, and while under 2.5 goals and the Stoke lay are temping bets – the draw at 3.25 looks good value to us.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Draw at 3.25.

MANCHESTER UNITED V BURNLEY

3pm Both these sides suffered disappointing results prior to Christmas, and will be looking to bounce back here. United will feel robbed after Leicester score an injury time equalizer and Spurs thrashed Burnley thanks to Harry Kane. United dominated the game against Leicester and really should have won, they should have put the game to bed when they had chances but that’s what happens if you don’t take your chance in the Premier League. Burnley are flying high this season, however the way in which Spurs brushed them aside on Saturday suggests that United can do the same here. And bar the defeat to City here, United have won every game. We will United will win here but it won’t be a stroll in the park for them, so for that reason we like under 2.5 goals at 2.1 which looks too big to ignore.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Under 2.5 goals at 2.1.

WATFORD V LEICESTER

3pm Watford are in terrible form at the moment and Leicester look massive here at 3.0. Indeed, it looks like one of the best value bets of the day – and there’s plenty of football today! Watford have lost their last four, and most disappointingly their last two – losing 4-1 at home to Huddersfield and then 1-0 away to Brighton – these are teams that Watford should be beating if they were in good form. It’s well noted that Leicester are better at home compared to away from home, however they did thrash Southampton 4-1 away from home recently and with Watford in poor form, this just looks like a superb time to back Leicester at these odds.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Leicester to beat Watford at 3.0.

WEST BROM V EVERTON

3pm We must say, similar thoughts apply to this game as the one above. Everton look like a massive price here at 3.25. They are yet to be beaten under Big Sam, they’ve won four of their last six and drew the other two with Chelsea and Liverpool. Compare that to West Brom at the moment – Pardew clearly hasn’t improved them since he has came in, and they suffered yet another poor defeat when losing 3-1 to Stoke at the weekend. Stoke were struggling prior to that game too, and they’ve also failed to beat Newcastle and lost to Swansea in their last six games as well. With Everton in good form and really fighting hard under the manager, the 3.25 looks massive here and we’re happy to back Everton all day long at those odds.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Everton to beat West Brom at 3.25.

LIVERPOOL V SWANSEA

5.30pm Both these sides had draws at the weekend, however they were very different draws! Swansea had a fairly uneventful 1-1 draw at home to Crystal Palace, while everyone loved watched the 3-3 between Arsenal and Liverpool on Friday night. When all is said and done though, Liverpool should have won the game. They bossed the first half, but only managed to score once – and then when they went 2-0 up, they should have closed out the game. That’s been the thing about Klopp, their attacking play is excellent but they just can’t seem to kill games when they should – sometimes they are too attacking and open! Swansea will more than likely come here to defend, however it’s hard to see them getting anything from this game. Liverpool will have too much firepower for them up front and we expect them to cover the handicap. You can currently get 1.8 on Liverpool -2 goals on the Asian Handicap and that looks great value.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Liverpool -2 goals Asian Handicap to beat Swansea at 1.8.
