PREMIER LEAGUE MONDAY: We preview Monday’s Premier League fixture between ARSENAL v NEWCASTLE with a recommended BETDAQ bet and extended match stats.

ARSENAL V NEWCASTLE

8pm We had a wonderful weekend of drama in the Premier League, and we finish off Matchday 32 with Arsenal hosting Newcastle on Monday Night Football. A late goal sunk Spurs against Liverpool yesterday, so a win here could put Arsenal into third position and two points ahead of Spurs and Manchester United. Chelsea enjoyed a late win over Cardiff too this weekend, so things are really tight in the race for a Top Four finish – Arsenal simply can’t afford to drop points in fixtures like this.

The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Arsenal 1.41, Newcastle 9.4 and the draw is 5.3. Arsenal have been excellent at home this season, and everything points to a smooth home win here. They’ve won their last nine at home and they have an excellent record when hosting Newcastle. It’s hard to see Newcastle winning tonight; however they are generally good at the back and should make life tough for Arsenal.

In 12 games this season, Newcastle have went into half time at 0-0 so perhaps this one will see the best action in the second half. We fully expect Benitez to set up Newcastle to defend, but we can see Arsenal getting late goals as Newcastle tire. The goals market is very interesting because over 2.5 goals is 1.64 and that looks pretty short. Another tempting bet is Newcastle on the handicap, however they are 1.8 -1.5 goals which doesn’t have the same appeal as under 2.5 goals.

Over all, we expect a very tight first half with Newcastle coming to London to defend and possibly get a draw. We like under 2.5 goals at 2.52 which looks massive – we expect an Arsenal win, but only by one goal or possibly 2-0. It’s worth checking the price of 1-0 and 2-0 home wins in the Correct Score market closer to kick off.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Under 2.5 goals at 2.52.
