PREMIER LEAGUE: We preview Monday’s Premier League game between SPURS v MAN CITY at Wembley with extended stats and a recommended BETDAQ bet.

TOTTENHAM V MANCHESTER CITY

8pm We have an excellent game for Monday Night Football tonight as Manchester City travel to Wembley to take on Spurs. We’ve had plenty of debate about the state of the pitch after Wembley hosted an NFL game here very recently and you’d have to admit that it looked pretty cut up midway through that game. We’ll just have to wait and see what the pitch is like tonight after the first 15 minutes of action.

Obviously the pitch will play a part and could easily break up some stylish football – something that will probably help Spurs rather than City given the pace at which City attack through midfield. City are odds on favourites with the match odds at the time of writing currently trading; Tottenham 5.1, Manchester City 1.75 and the draw is 4.2.

City have been excellent this season, and apart from some minor blips when drawing in the Premier League and losing in the Champions League they have been faultless. Spurs have grinded out some good results too and this should be an excellent game of football to enjoy.

The problem for Spurs is when they have faced real top quality opposition they have come up short. We saw them lose to Barcelona here recently and while they gave it ‘a good go’ they were simply outclassed on the pitch. With the quality that City have in their line-up; it’s hard not to see a similar outcome here.

City have been banging in the goals again this season and it’s very hard to not see them scoring tonight. In the two Premier League games last season, City came out on top twice with an aggregate score of 7-2. The pitch may play a part but we can’t see past City winning here and they look great value at 1.75.

  • Tottenham’s Erik Lamela has been directly involved in four goals in five Premier League games this season (three goals, one assist), the same total he registered in 25 games last term (two goals, two assists).
  • Man City’s Sergio Aguero scored 10 goals in his first seven Premier League games against Spurs – since then, he’s failed to find the net in five appearances against them.
