PREMIER LEAGUE SATURDAY: We preview Saturday’s Premier League games with recommended BETDAQ bets including CHELSEA v ARSENAL at 5.30pm.

CARDIFF V NEWCASTLE

12.30pm The Premier League kicked off last weekend and it was fantastic to have it back! We start the second weekend with Newcastle traveling to Cardiff who suffered an opening day defeat against Bournemouth while Newcastle lost to Spurs. Many punters were quick to judge Cardiff afterwards and say they are the “worst team” in the Premier League this season; only time will tell! We have an open market, with the match odds at the time of writing currently: Cardiff 3.35, Newcastle 2.56 and the draw is 3.2. Newcastle put up a good fight against Spurs last weekend and we feel that a similar performance will see them collect all three points here. After their opening game, we have to see more from Cardiff but at the odds we’re happy to back Newcastle.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Newcastle to beat Cardiff at 2.56.

EVERTON V SOUTHAMPTON

3pm This is a very interesting fixture between two sides who weren’t at their best last season. Obviously Southampton’s troubles have been well documented and they didn’t start great last season, they improved at the game went on but you can see them having trouble scoring again this season. Everton, on the other hand, had a 2-2 thriller against Wolves – we felt that Wolves were a good lay beforehand but we had a worry about Everton away from home – back at home here where they perform much better they can beat this Southampton side. We feel that the 1.96 on offer for Everton is ten ticks too big and were happy to back them at the odds.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Everton to beat Southampton at 1.96.

LEICESTER V WOLVERHAMPTON

3pm Wolves started the season a shorter price than many of the established sides in the Premier League and it will be very interesting to see how they get on. They drew 2-2 with Everton last weekend and that is a good benchmark for them to start their season – we can see them struggling against the top sides, as most mid-table sides do, however they will more than hold their own against the mid-table sides. Leicester had to start their season at Old Trafford and nearly came away with something too – Manchester United didn’t boss that fixture by any means and a case can be made for saying that Leicester deserved a draw. We feel that Leicester should have too much class for Wolves here with home advantage a big help.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Leicester to beat Wolverhampton at 2.1.

TOTTENHAM V FULHAM

3pm We haven’t seen this London Derby for a few seasons and it’s good to have it back. Spurs started their campaign with three points on a tricky trip to St James’ Park while Fulham went off favourites against Crystal Palace but lost at home. Perhaps it was the unknown that made Fulham favourites, but they were beaten fairly handy in the end and it doesn’t bode too well for them this season. We expect a comfortable Spurs win here and feel that they will easily cover the handicap too. They’re currently trading 1.82 -1.5 goals and that looks cracking value.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Tottenham -1.5 goals to beat Fulham at 1.82.

WEST HAM V BOURNEMOUTH

3pm West Ham will be looking to bounce back very quickly after suffering an embarrassing 4-0 defeat to Liverpool last weekend. They won’t be the only team to be embarrassed by Liverpool this season though and it would be unfair to judge them on that – they have done some good business this summer and this game will tell us a lot about what we can expect from them this season. Bournemouth got off to a solid start against Cardiff however the jury is still out on what beating Cardiff means – the 12-30 game will tell us more – but it was a solid performance and as always, they are tough to beat. West Ham are currently 2.18 to win and that looks a few ticks too short for us – we expect a closer game here than those suggest and are happy to lay West Ham from a value point of view.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay West Ham at 2.18.

CHELSEA V ARSENAL

5.30pm This is the second London Derby today with Spurs meeting Fulham, however this one is the highlight of the weekend! Both sides have already been comfortably beaten by Manchester City already this season, with Arsenal losing last weekend and Chelsea in the Community Shield – that probably highlights that this game is more of a “Top Four Spot” game than a title game! It should be very interesting none the less with both sides getting new managers in the summer.

The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Chelsea 1.85, Arsenal 4.6 and the draw is 4.0. Chelsea being odds on shows just how far Arsenal have fallen in recent times, and if last week was anything to go by – they are going to struggle again this season. Arsenal have been very poor away from home in recent seasons and we can see that trend continuing. Chelsea may not have been odds on for this fixture in the past, however now it is justified and we’re happy to back them at the odds.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Chelsea to beat Arsenal at 1.82.
