DUNDALK NAP: SHAMROCK’S nap runs on the Dundalk card tonight – the final racing in Ireland before the Christmas break.
The usual eight race card at Dundalk on Friday but unusually only three of the races are handicaps.
For my final bet before the Christmas break I’m relying on Port Lions to finally break his duck in the maiden at 6pm.
He was tried in much better company than this on the turf and ran some good races but also shown promise on his all-weather debut here when a three quarters of a length second to Medal Of Honour over the same seven furlong trip.
His rating of 85 should prove easily good enough in a race where those with form look distinctly modest.
Debutant Zihba has been well backed – no doubt on his 2,000 Guineas entry – but he helps the market stand up – otherwise it would be very one-sided in favour of Port Lyons.
