EVENING ACTION AT GALWAY: Day five at the Galway Festival which starts at 5.10pm on Friday. SHAMROCK’s nap runs in the 5.45pm.

Rayisa, my nap yesterday, led everywhere bar the line and was pegged back in the closing stages to finish second at 5/2.

Another good mixed card on Friday with the best bet looking to be the Dermot Weld trained Lost In Silence in the seven furlong maiden at 5.45pm.

The filly ran well first time up at Limerick when runner-up to Ellery Lane and the form of that race took a boost when Ellery Lane ran with great credit in a Group 3 at the Curragh – beaten just over two lengths in fourth.

Hopefully, the price will hold up as there are some serious rivals, including an Aidan O’Brien debutant in Wings Of Eagles who cost 220,000 euros.

The Joseph O’Brien trained Epitaph finished third on debut at Bellewstown but it was a race with National Hunt like winning distances – beaten six lengths and six and a half lengths and will need to find considerable improvement to feature here.
