THURSDAY’S NAP WAS A NON RUNNER: So the quest for 9 out of 12 winning naps continues at Leopardstown tonight.

THE PLAN MAN was taken out of the race last night so a blank day.

I’m attempting the 3rd NAP in a row tonight, the 9th from the last 12, or the 24th from the last 39 – whichever way you read the sequence !!

I’m heading to Leopardstown this evening…..

The Listed Saval Beg Stakes at 7.20 is not the race it looked earlier in the week with several of the big guns by-passing it including Gold Cup favourite Rite Of Passage who has been ruled out because of the fast ground.

Aidan O’Brien has successfully used this race in the past as a prep for the Ascot Gold Cup and his representative this year is El Salvador trading at 25 on the BETDAQ ante-post market.

His winning form has come on the all-weather and heavy ground and he was disappointing on yielding last time out when third, a beaten favourite, in the Vintage Crop Stakes at Navan (Missunited second). I would be wary that the faster ground tonight will bring about an improvement.

A safer proposition may be Pale Mimosa for Dermot Weld who has a good record in the race. She won on debut last season and seems to be improving. She also has winning form on good ground in a Listed race at York so is a safer bet that she will handle the forecast good to firm tonight.
