NOW 4 NAPS FROM 5: SHAMROCK landed his FOURTH WINNING NAP from the last five with KYLEMORE LOUGH (NAP) WON 7/4 in the Ryanair Gold Cup Novice Chase at Fairyhouse yesterday.

The naps are continuing in excellent form with FOUR WINNING NAPS from the last five:

Wed: OUR MANEKINEKO (NAP) WON 2/1
Thu: VAL DE FERBET (NAP) 2nd
Fri: CAPTAIN JOY (NAP) WON 11/1 *
Sat: CLEAR CUT (NAP) WON 6/5
Sun: KYLEMORE LOUGH (NAP) WON 7/4

* Recommended as a place only bet on BETDAQ

As well as Irish Grand National Day at Fairyhouse, Cork stage a mixed card, under way at 1.55 with the Listed Cork Stakes.

It’s a later start at Fairyhouse with the first of several Graded races on the superb card.

2:40 REA Grimes Property Consultants Juvenile Hurdle (Grade 2) (4yo, Class 1, 2m, 8 runners)

Interesting to see the support for hat-trick seeking Newberry New who is the top BETDAQ positive of the day. I have a little concern that his best form has come on bottomless ground, including his win here last time when dead-heating in a Grade 3. It was heavy on that occasion and yielding to soft today. Preference is for Rashaan who was well beaten in a Grade 1 at Leopardstown last month but it was a hot race won by Footpad who went on to finish third in the Triumph and the fifth horse Jer’s Girl gave the form a huge boost when winning a Grade 1 here yesterday with ease.

3:15 Rathbarry & Glenview Studs Novice Hurdle (Grade 2) (4yo+, Class 1, 2m, 8 runners)

Sutton Place has improved on each start and stayed on strongly to win a Listed race at Naas last time out. This is tougher but he should again account for Royal Caviar who was six and a half lengths back in second at Naas.

4:20 Keelings Irish Strawberry Hurdle (Grade 2) (5yo+, Class 1, 2m 4f, 8 runners)

Dedigout won this last year and will prove hard to beat again today. He was a well beaten last of three in the Ladbrokes Ireland Boyne Hurdle at Navan last time out but on heavy ground and he will enjoy the better surface today.

5:00 Irish Grand National Chase (Grade A Extended Handicap) (5yo+, 3m 5f, 27 runners)

A great spectacle can be guaranteed but it’s a tough ask for punters trying to sort out the 27 runners. I’m only playing small in this year’s race with Wrath Of Titans, win and place on BETDAQ. Trained by Sandra Hughes who sent out Thunder And Roses to win at 20/1 last year and that one could start even bigger today. Stable companion Wrath Of Titans was pitched in at the deep end when last of four to No More Heroes in a Grade 1 at Leopardstown but certainly wasn’t totally disgraced and is likely to prefer the better ground today.

5:35 John & Chich Fowler Memorial E.B.F. Mares Chase (Grade 3) (5yo+, Class 1, 2m 4f, 6 runners)

Emily Gray looks a low downside lay. She carries a penalty and had a hard race when winning at Huntingdon last time out. She’s a shade of odds against, not odds-on, in my book.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Rashaan (2.40 Fairyhouse)
NEXT BEST: Sutton Place (3.15 Fairyhouse)
TREBLE: Dedigout (4.20 Fairyhouse)
WIN AND PLACE: Wrath Of Titans (5.00 Fairyhouse)
LAY: Emily Gray (5.35 Fairyhouse)
