BALLINROBE EVENING ACTION: SHAMROCK heads to Ballinrobe to preview their seven race evening card which gets underway at 5.20 with a mix of flat and jumps action.

The changing ground at the Curragh on Sunday led to the NAP – Anthem Alexander – being a non runner – the third ‘non running’ nap of the week. I will try and find some runners this week and hopefully winners too!

There’s a mixed card to look forward to at Ballinrobe tonight and my best bet of the night runs in the Costello McDermott Mares Maiden Hurdle at 6.50.

Storm Away didn’t show much on the flat at Galway a fortnight ago but should be a different proposition on her hurdling debut tonight.

The mare has shown good ability in bumpers – winning two of her three races and finishing third to Tropical Three in a competitive Punchestown bumper.

She then switched to the flat, winning at Wexford and being placed several times.

This doesn’t look too harsh a debut and she should have the class to defy a penalty.

Biggest danger may comes from Urtheoneiwant who chased home the favourite Rae’s Creek at Ballinrobe last time out. Although beaten nine and a half lengths she finished nicely clear of her rivals.
